They fail to realize that if they set up an online TV channel dedicated to the league. This would lead to a strong Ghanaian audience abroad and advertising revenue.

Amin Lamptey is right. We need a quota for local based players. In my opinion, players like Akwasi appiah, braimah don't have the quality for bstar. I believe there are local players who can do better. Did Grant include local isreali premier league players in the national team when he was coach? So why is he not doing that in Ghana? Brasil, Germany, Spain, Sudan, Tunisia, etc all local players in their national teams. Why not Ghana? Sika die3y basaaaaaaa nti. Agyeman Badu, fatau, accam, amartey and rabiu must all be excused from the team. Let's welcome some new ones like adusei,.salifu,.assifuah, adomah, yiadom. Some local players, Some u20 players and help them build confidence going into the 20 wcup. Bstars is not an entitlement for any player. Selection should be based on merit. This is the time for grant to drop his conservative thinking and welcome new players from the local league and elsewhere for them to.come in and prove themselves. Also, atsu and jordan must switch positions. Play atsu as an 8 or sub 10 and use jordan on the right wing. The bstar goalie trainer must also be fired! Braimah keeps making the same damn mistakes. So what is the goalie trainer getting paid for? Ebei...Grant and Konadu, you call yourselves coaches? Muahahahaaaaaaaaa

The truth of the matter is most of the players go abroad to make more money(greed) to buy expensive cars to show off and build mansions which the Ghanaian economy can't cater for them. They don't wait to get matured.

What do you know about coaching, mister? Talk is easy so any one can talk but saying it and doing it are two different actions.
The local league is unattractive and not competitive for several reasons. We cannot reap where we're not sowing anything. We used to have well organized inter schools sports programs especially at the secondary and college levels. Where are they now? We've retrogressed instead of progressing. Most of the countries that are doing much better than us have made big strides in sports development because they made big investments in education and sports from the elementary school level through high school to college. We don't know what our priorities are as a nation and keep wasting our resources where they are least needed. Those nations whose successes we envy have adequate and well equipped sports infrastructure. We are wasting our time living and glorifying in pastime paradise because we lost our focus. When was the last time we won the African Cup of Nations? We made a little success at the boys under 14 and under 17 levels of FIFA world competitions because of age cheating. If we desire substantial success in football then let's put our money where our mouth is. Start from the basic level of education to the highest level. Learn from those who are succeeding. Develop the local league and make it more attractive. Improve the economy for we cannot expect progress in any field of human endeavor in a belly up economy. You can only blame Grant if we're firing on all cylinders, done everything right and are failing to get the right results from our investments. Go to the USA and you'll marvel at the investments made in sports even at the lowest level of education. About 3 months ago I visited an elementary school in Central Florida and I was pleasantly surprised when I saw their schook gym. Not even the University of Ghana can boast of a gym like what I saw. I wish those who are stealing money in government will re-invest the money in the economy like Ayariga.
Allow me to remind you that there's formula for success. Everything else is irrelevant to our progress. We have to be doing it right to get it right. We have the talents but so does every nation. You have to be able to recognize the talent early in life and develop it to any level you desire. Other nations are doing better because they know and are doing whatever it takes to succeed. Please come again

A married Ghanaian couple were on holiday in Jamaica. They were touring around the marketplace looking at the goods and such, when they passed this small sandal shop.
From inside they heard the shopkeeper say, You foreigners! Come in." So the couple walked in.
The Jamaican said to them, "I have some magical sandals I think you would be interested in. Dey make you wild at sex."
The wife was really interested in buying the sandals, but her husband felt he really didn't need them because he has locally made roots that is better..
The husband asked the woman, "How could sandals make you into a sex freak?"
The Jamaican replied, "Just try dem on, Man."
Well, the husband, after some badgering from his wife, finally gave in and tried them on.
As soon as he slipped them onto his feet, he got this wild look in his eyes, something his wife hadn't seen in many years!!
The husband grabbed the Jamaican lady, bent him violently over a table, yanked down her panties, ripped down his own and started screwing her.
Frantically the middle age Jamaican woman screamed "WRONG FEET, YOU HAVE SHOES ON WRONG FEET"

Gone were the days when we had foreign players comming to Ghana to play in our league. I remember Gunther Netzer when I was a small boy. The league is unattractive and poorly organized. All the players from Kotoko to Bechen are all poorly paid. How can you organize a top 4 tournament and the 1st winner takes $20,000 as price and you call this competition? Sometimes clubs win 20 crates of Guinness cartons. What do you expect? Booooze

It is unfortunate for someone who is acclaimed as an ace sports journalist to be so ignorant about why Ghanaian players go outside in large numbers to play football.
The life of a professional footballer in Ghana is really a difficult one. The clubs lack adequate resources to take good care of them. Can you believe that many of them are paid a paltry salary less than GH¢150.00 a month? Because they are not taken good care of, this affects their career development hence they struggle a lot. The result is that any least opportunity to go out is grabbed quickly to the extent that, we have Ghanaian footballers playing in Korea, South Africa, DRC, Tanzania, not to talk about Europe. It is purely an economic decision to look for greener pastures.

And I said among other reasons why players would prefer playing outside could be playing for our National teams.I went on to mentioned all our national teams but pontificated on the Black Stars. He never asked a direct question on player exodus but linked it up with our domestic league.
The Coaching issue was my personal opinion based on my investigation of the league over one and half decades.
Watching our domestic league you can clearly see the lack of quality and both technical, and tactical dispositions that can attract the needed numbers to the stadium.
Our Coaches need to help develop our game by building on their current coaching capacity.
I take in good faith the attacks and all you said but am not 33 but over 40.Grateful.
the writer just wassap me and said he was doing a research on the domestic league and never told me he was going to publish it with this headline... I have learnt a lesson the hard way.....
