Look at Mr Tin-God,talking as if he can see past his nose...he's head mahama making promises so he also promising.I know if NDC wins( not likely) Mahama will kick him out of that position and if NPP wins they will drag him to court for causing financial loss to the state.In any scenario Mr Arrogant Nii Lante-Power Drunk-Vanderpuye will never see the inside ministry of sports and parliament again. By 2020(if Vanderpuye is still sports minister) there will be no athlete running for Ghana as they all would have registered for different countries and all the foreign based football players will retire from international football.In the meantime keep dreaming about life in your constituency as an ex-parliamentarian.

As long as the incompetence and thievery continue, as long as no sane person in government thinks that we have to start providing resources for young kids to start using in the teens, there is not an iota of chance that Ghana will do anything at any Olympics, ever, other than the display of Kentey cloth at the opening ceremony. We will even lose the Kentey display if other countries decide to show of their culture. Idiotic African governments.

At least this Minister is talking about what has been ignored for too long. The problems with the sports sector were there before this Minister. And at least he has forced the Federation President of Football to be accountab ...

At least this Minister is talking about what has been ignored for too long. The problems with the sports sector were there before this Minister. And at least he has forced the Federation President of Football to be accountable for the first time ever, and he refused to finance a stupid home game with thousands of dollars the country does not have in flying in international players what for??? So that's why there's people on this forum who are hating. The truth is however, he needs to go much further and be bold. The way the Federations are run is the cause of the problem and they don't want it to change because they are on a gravy train. About 300 people went to the African Games and came back with what?? At the Olympics, 16 officials for 16 athletes who were selected through magic and mystery and who were all eliminated first round, and not just eliminated but came last. There are federation presidents who couldn't run a piss up in a brewery. Have no management skills and no international sports skills and yet they are trying to compete on the international stage or even just the African zone against countries like South Africa, Nigeria and North Africans that clean up the medals tables and wipe the floor with Ghana EVERY TIME. Why does this happen? It's not because of lack of talent or lack of facilities because you can be a winner running on the dirt road (look at the Kenyans and Ethiopians), it happens because the management of the federations are supremely corrupt, have no respect for their sport, absolutely no respect for talent or achievement, in fact they are afraid of talented athletes because god forbid if an athlete wins a gold medal at an international event they become more important than the federation president, so they actively hate on their own most talented athletes (check out Martha Bissah story or the Ophelia Swayne fiasco and many many more), AND...they have absolutely no love or loyalty to the flag of Ghana, because they would sell out their own athletes to a rival federation at the drop of a hat and at the right price. IT'S GOING ON FOLKS, ALL THE TIME, THAT'S WHY THERE HAVE BEEN NO WINNERS OUT OF GHANA... NOW YOU KNOW.
