I think Ghanaians are not treating Asamoah Gyan well. He still has some football in him and they should appreciate him for his past services.
Some mischievous Ghanaian journalists want prematurely retire Asamoah Gyan and also create the same problem between Tony Yeboah and Abedi Pele years ago that almost torn the team apart until Stephen Appiah, as captain, brought sanity to the team once again.

Ghana can only win an international trophy under ayew's reign. that's for a fact! it doesn't even call for a debate. however, for fear of disputes, unecessary hatred, pure enviness towards the "AYEW" family again, I end fervent prayer of ayew becoming captain sooner rather than latter over here. But in my heart, I wished it even happens tomorrow. One undisputed fact though: until ayew become captain, I for one don't see Ghana becoming a winner of any international tournament. Even for the next 100 years. Sure, Gyan and ayew are both big game players but when it comes to natural leader to ensure success when it matters, the former trail the latter in every department of that context under discussion.

Immediately, one of Gyan's fans was quick to remind him that it was his idol who scored the winning goal against the USA which eventually got us to the semis in the first place. He went on and said that ayew was totally anonymous in that game. However, this fan has "intentionally" forgot or just chose not to mention that it was ayew who gave the decisive pass which resulted to the goal. That aside: truth needs no crouches, when it limps, it becomes a lie. Sincerely, when we talk about big game players, Gyan's name doesn't even come close. If u can direct his glory days to a fact that he scored that big goal against the USA, as a yardstick for big game players, then sorry my brother, I can give u dozens of ayew heroics of similar events and even more superior ones right from his debut in 2008 to his latest exploits at the 2014 world cup in Brazil. Not to mention the "UNDER 20 WORLD CUP". I always say this after that historic "under 20 world cup win" that unless a certain Andre Ayew is made captain of both under 23 and the Snr National team, Ghana will never win any national trophy. We just don't have any natural leader or a leader with positive and winning mentality as ayew's in this country. lest I forget, even if Ghana qualify for the Olympics one-day, please, ayew should be made captain. I bet we shall bring the trophy home! He is that capable. I for one, I feel he is ordained and destined for such occasions. Is high time we ended this "ABEDI HATRED" and face realities, which is: ayew is the man capable of leading black stars to revive its glory days. Until ayew is made captain of all national teams in Ghana, I would rather we stop wasting money for tournaments. We won't come back victorious. Truth is always biter but sweet after u had the "last laugh". how many players in Ghana can play under duress and constant criticism? one( Andre Ayew). how many players can turn up when Ghana need them most in tough matches? u guess right....none matches ayew's record in that department. how many Ghanaian players have exhibited any quality which in anyway match up their hypes....ur guess is as good as mine. Andrew ayew was and is the most criticized Ghanaians player ever. Especially, looking at the age he broke into the Snr national team and for a fact that the dad was a gfa member then. Many people just decided to close eyes on his immense talent and rather chose to tarnish his image and indeed painted him black, everytime they get an opportunity to talk on air. But till today, he never looked back neither looked back, he is just proving his haters wrong by by doing his job everyday. One thing: he plays every game as though, it is his debut. It's ayew as captain or we risk never winning any international trophy for another 3.5 decades.
