Ama, you are dead wrong. White are much disciplined than Bkacks unfortunately. The records are there for all to see. Yes they introduced slave trade, but then was there are a law on human rights that bar such trades ?, the answer is no... and when a law was finally enacted, the made sure the trade was abolished..even though some black folks are still engaging the practice, and it the white man who is spending time and money to police and protect the human right law not Blacks because we care less when we do it to our own kindred, yes the under privileged in our society can be enslaved to enriched ourselves but then turn around to cry wolf when the with help blacks ,yes black engage in any form of act the perpetrates such wrong doing. No race is holier than thou but blacks are terrible hypocrites. Look around the would and see for yourself what makes whites so successful in almost that they do and why blacks equally intelligent fail at almost everything or will find ways to destroy achievements by other blacks instead of building on. The plain truth are lack of proper discipline, lack of purpose or goal , and lack of a united front..... without these traits intelligence is nothing. Take Ghana for instance and tell me why with all the great minds we have as a nation, we have continously failed to solve the basic element of sanitation in our country and all of Africa.... It's hurtful but that is the truth.

If you look at what happened in Brazil, you will know why we have an expatriate coach. Have you forgotten what led to Kwasi Appiah's dismissal and Avram Grant's appointment? Kwasi Appiah could not maintain order in the camp. None of the players in the current or past team will dare misbehave in front of Avram Grant, not even Sulley Muntari, lol. Appiah also made some basic mistakes in his selection against the USA that a tactically minded coach would not have made. How can you field your weaker team and say you are waiting for the other team to get tired before your bring on the stronger team? Ehh? Is that what a sound tactician does? Unfortunately, this has created the impression that local coaches are indecisive or lack the capabilities to pick the right strategy for important games. If you want to propose a local coach, you must tell us how that local coach will make up for all the flaws we saw in Kwasi Appiah. Until then, find something more productive to do with your time, Mr. minister.

How dumb can the Ghanaian be. You want a FIFA law to tell you what you can do? Mexico, US, Egypt, England, Japan have had foreign coaches. Out of 10 South American countries, only 4 are coached by a national of the country (Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay and Venezuela) Before Dunga, Brazil very nearly appointed Pep Guardiola before he went to Bayern Munich. Some Ghanaians don't think. Simply. If you have a good local coach, why not appoint one if you have him. You had Akwasi Appiah and you sacked him. You brought in Avram Grant and now you are calling for a local coach. If you have a good one, give him the job and stop writing nonsense. Other nations have invested in football better than Ghana and don't compare the achievements of Kwame Nkrumah with today's leaders. If you don't invest, you are not winning. It has nothing to do with foreign or local coach. Talent and investment to unearth talent. Who to appoint as national coach is not FIFA's job. It is the job of the National Football Administration

With that said, I must say that Ghanaian coaches currently neither have the integrity nor the balls to control the playing body. We saw Akwasi Appiah assembled a squad the BS has hitherto sent to a tournament but, he didn't have the balls nor the respect to manage the team. Although, I agree that some Ghanaian coaches have the skills for the job yet they cannot coach the team by virtue of their biases and weaknesses. We will have to wait for Stephen Appiah to mature before we can depend on any Ghanaian coach.

It's not about colour or national identity. That is a ridiculous line if you want to be a winner. TO be the best you have to train with the best and have the best. If you look at all the successful athletes they switch up according to what is necessary. The idea that a national coach should be Ghanaian implies that where they're born determines if they are best for the job and that's silly. Just as it is silly to assume that a white coach is the better one. In other words, making a judgement based on race and colour is shortsighted and ignorant. THE BEST WAY OF APPOINTING THE COACH IS TO HAVE A SELECTION PROCEDURE THAT IS OPEN AND TRANSPARENT AND THEN PICK THE RIGHT APPLICANT FOR THE JOB. Having said that, there is a tendency for an internal dialogue that goes on with the assumption that the white man knows best so perhaps what the Minister would be better to say is that we have excellent coaching talent, present their good qualities and their credentials and then say that home grown talent should be given an opportunity. THAT'S IF YOU WANT TO WIN THAT IS. It's true what the Minister is saying that the majority of the players are oalready outstanding palyers so they're not learning nothing new and therefore the coach is more an enabler/administrator and captain of the ship rather than coaching play. It's a difficult one and the Minister is right to raise it because the foreign coaches are not as committed to the flag perhaps because 'it's just a job' and they demand a lot of money for relocating. So that's the downside, but the downside of the homegrown coach is that, as someone has pointed out, they are easily compromised and vulnerable to pressure. So the best criteria should be WHO IS BEST FOR THE JOB? If you look at all the top athletes they have coaches from wherever. The French guy just coached Serena Williams back to top form winning her 22 Grand Slam and breaking records. He is French, she is African American and they compete all over the world. Thankfully sport is the one place in th world where it's about performance and it's a global thing so saying these things about blackvs white coaches is really shortsighted and not relevant if you want to compete at the top level.

Th emInister i right but the problem is that it's not about whehter you are black or white. The problem is that even if there are brilliant coaches or potetial in Ghana for a good coach to grow and develop, the whole situation is so radically negative and impossibe that he would neer be able to succeed!Imagine the scenario: Ghanaian coach, he wants to pick player A someone says no pick player B, someone else says no pick player C, then there is a huge argument, media coverage that is frankly paid for by whoever has deeper pockets to promote their player, the coach is just trying to pick a great team, he is torn to shreds in the ghanaian press, he has to step down at a crucial minute, he has no muscle to pursue anything and no backing: so there you go.... that's how it's going to go down. The problem is not the loyalty of the white coach or the skill of the Ghanaian coaach, the problem is that on every level, success is made ipossible because o body wants to work together, everyone wants to prove 'mine's bigger',they pull rank and they are open to bribes and there you go. Whoever becomes president and I hope it's Mahama, they need to take the sports industry in ghana, the federations and the whole way of doing things to task, have an inquiry and set up a BRAND NEW SYSTEM AND SPORTS AUTHORITY. FULL STOP! Only then can we attract the best talent and start to build and move forward. the current system is too sick.

Its all said and done, Mr.Minister. local coach is more than a disaster looking or judging from what happened in 2014 world cup I'm saying this no foreign coach will fire a player in a tournament whatever the outcome is but to keep the prayers intact until the tournament is finished, then try to address whatever issues, our local coach is the opposite. Now let ask ourselves what's kind of coaches took us to the first two world cups. Foreign coaches are better and finally soccer of today is an investment if you don't invest the only results you get is a disaster.

Nii Lantey Vanderpuije is a fool! Get him out. Even the Europeans who brought football, some of them hire the services of coaches from outside their country when necessary. After mismanaging the economy there's no money to pay coaches so now this is what this crazy NDC apparatchik will say. For 19 yrs the NDC could not help our Black Stars quality to the World Cup because of NDC's character. It was not until Kuffour's govt turned things around. With Mr Yaw Osafo Marfo Minister for Sport, Ghana qualified for the WC-2006 and caused big surprises at the tournament. Ghanaians felt very proud esp those of us in the diaspora; other foreign national would heap praises like: "Oh Ghana is good" and "so where is Ghana?, 'they play good" among other things. Now due to NDC's mismanagement, Ghana dropped out the tournament in the 1st round at the WC-2014 in Brazil amid corruption scandals involving govt appointees. With fools in power that's the kind of results we can get. Surprisingly you get a bunch of idiots coming out support these crazy statements from the NDC. Why should Ghanaians allow these criminals to continue bringing problems to the nation? It's corruption, thievery, death threats to our Supreme Court Justices, murdering of MPs, electoral fraud, by importing foreigners to register for voting in Ghana's elections and inciting the EC to disobey SC's orders etc. What at all is going on in Ghana when the NDC is in power. Nii Lantey Vanderpuije is a crazy guy to be loaded on the backs of the sports ministry. In short NDC is bogus and should be booted out of office before they totally destroy everything.

We may have good footballers but we don't have a tradition of good managers. The game has changed a lot. The best managers in the game are found in Europe -- that is a fact. This minister is over-simplifying the matter. After Akwasi Appiah bungling our world cup, I don't want to see any GCE O'level drop out come near our national team. We don't have the expertise in the modern game. It is not necessarily about playing the game; it is much more about managing people and getting the best out of them.

The ghanaian governments cause am. Not only in sports but in anything we do in Ghana. We have our construction companies but the government will give most contracts to foreign companies. Think of the parliament chairs, the circle inter change etc are some of the facts. Even the government will give its own real estate to foreign agents. It should be enough. All contracts should be given to Ghanaians except those we don't have the experts. This would improve our companies, lives and our economy, and our students will get assess to do their practicals. This is how countries do to move forward. All wiill be made by Ghana.
But Mr. Minister, we do need expatriate to teach us how to behave that's all, but not how to play.
