I want to beg for her. She is now coming up. We should not destroy her future. We should find another punishment for her but allow her to go for the olympics

I think there is a misunderstanding? What I think they're saying is that she has not been picked because someone else who doesn't have the time was picked to go because they paid a bribe to the Federation President? Or at least this is the allegation and because they've made the allegation, the girl has been banned indefinitely. So what seems to have happened is that this girl is supposed to be better on times and past record as a medal winner, for some reason she didn'tmake it to the qualifier possibly? Some other person was picked to go to the Olympics and this girl's father is saying that's because the other girl's father paid for that place. ALL OF THIS, IF IT HAPPENED, IS COMPLETELY BELIEVABLE. The Federation presidents don't like to be open about their selection criteria. This lack of accountability means they can pick who they like and they don't even have to explain why. So a young athlete can work for 8 or 10 years towards an Olympic goal, and then for whatever reason, someone who has NO clue about the sport and has probably never even played that particular sport, but because he is the 'PRESIDENT' voted in by dubious circumstances and a bunch of people he gets onside to vote for him by giving them gifts, ends up deciding that he doesn't want person A but he wants person B. Sometimes they might ask for money, or for sexual favours, or for whatever, the point is the current system is open to abuse. Any Federation President can do whatever he wants and if you question it, you are banned!!!! this makes it basically untenable to train for competitions and represent Ghana because if you are dedicated and invest all the time and money you want to know that you will not be blocked form participating. UNTIL AND UNLESS THE SYSTEM IS CLEANED UP, THESE GUYS WILL CARRY ON TAKING ADVANTAGE OF ATHLETES. I THINK THERE SHOULD BE A COALITION OF ATHLETES TO MAKE REPRESENTATION TO FLAGSTAFF HOUSE ABOUT WHAT IS GOING ON.

It is happening too much. If you whistle blow on what is going on, the Federation simply bans the athlete, so all that training and all that expense spent goes to waste because there is NO SYSTEM AT PRESENT TO CHALLENGE THE PRESIDENTS OF THE FEDERATIONS WHICH ARE EFFECTIVELY DICTATORS. The minute anyone asks an awkward question, they ban the athlete. It goes on all the time. so everyone keeps quiet. There has to be clear transparent selection criteria not personal choice based on who pays you the most or who kisses your backside! This is absolutely outrageous. The girl has worked to get to this moment and then the Federation President plays God! Fire Him! MINISTER WHERE ARE YOU??? GOC PRESIDENT WHERE ARE YOU? oh wait he's doing the same thing to Martha Bissah. NATIONAL SPORT AUTHORITY WHERE ARE YOU????? this has to stop or there will be no athletes left except those willing to pay the Federation presidents or people who are not really talented but they just tow the line and sing the praise of the Federation president and management. I feel sick!

Ghanaian bosses are notorious for abusing their power and throwing their weight around. The Ghana Swimming Association summarily suspended a swimmer for accusing another swimmer's parents of bribing officials to get her on the team. Now these officials are demanding an apology before she is reinstated. This is case between two swimmers and therefore was uncalled for, for the Ghana Swimming Association to get involved in this dispute.

To accuse someone of bribery without evidence is a serious allegation. If she cannot substantiate her allegation and wouldn't apologize then give her the boot. Damn her future.
