What is the punishment for dangerous played a straight red. They review the incident on video and if it’s not serious then a 1 match ban. If it is considered a more serious offence then a 3 match ban can be given. When anything happens to a Ghanaian we want the rule to be changed People are calling for life time ban for the goalkeeper. Whatever the goalkeeper did was stupid and he needs to serve his punishment but calling for life ban is over the top. When KPB use excessive force and endangers the safety of Michael Ballack which resulted in him not being able to play in the 2010 world cup no one in Ghana called for life ban for KPB. When Luis Suárez used his hand to prevent a goal in the 2010 world cup and was shown the red card and PK was awarded when we failed to score Ghanaians want the rule to change. Let rule be rules.

ball, simple apology like that would even show he probably didn't have a bad intention. He definitely needs some ban of some sort even if it's not forever so it can help to be an example and can protect some of the star players as well as the beauty of the game.

And what has CAF done about it, as usual NOTHING! At times one gets the impression some members of the CAF are simply happy that some leading stars become marked men, as long as they can be kept out of the lime light in Africa. Remember that barbaric and brutal attack on Essien by a Libyan player in another CA-related competition! What did CAF do about that too! NOTHING. That organization is indeed a STAND FOR NOTHING ORGANIZATION, that's right, STAND FOR NOTHING. If GAF has not done it yet, I would expect them to launch a formal complaint against that player from Guinea. He must be punished and set as an example. Do something about this, GAF; or else BStars will be targeted by some of these low-down and good for nothing African players during CAF competitions.

Boxing and wrestling are for entertainment but with a wide and large margin given to the participants to cause injuries to one another, but when the injury is getting out of hand, the referee will halt proceedings.
Football to a large extent is meant for entertainment and not to cause injury. A situation where a player deliberately causes an injury to an opponent is undesirable. What the Guinean goalkeeper did to Atsu and Asamoah must be condemned by all lovers of football. The referee should have given that goalkeeper a red card after his first assault on Atsu. I cannot understand why the referee did not give him the red card.
In fact, that goalkeeper should count himself very lucky because if I were Atsu, I would not wait for the referee's decision. I would retaliate massively - maybe kicking him on the scrotum or in the eyes - which may send him to the hospital - and I would not be remorseful if the bastard should die.
Now, some forumers would say I am no sportsman!!! Sportsman my foot. What about my opponent? Could someone out there convince me that the Guinean goalkeeper was a sportsman hence his unsportsmanly attacks on Atsu and Gyan? Violence begets violence.
That's why I stopped playing football several years ago.

TONY, Football (Soccer) is a "contact sport" and players get hurt all the time. If hurting people in any “contact sports” leads to lawsuits, then our prisons will be full of BOXERS, American FOORBALL PLAYERS, HOCKEY PLAYERS and, Yes, many SOCCER PLAYERS as well.
What is the main objective of playing soccer? JUST TO WIN (score goals) and for a goalkeeper, his objective is JUST TO SHIELD THE POSTS from the balls entering—and which part don’t you understand?
How can you PROVE motive in this case? Asamoah Gyan wanted to score and the goalkeeper wanted to prevent him from scoring and in the process, Asamoah got hurt and as much as it hurts me for his possible exclusion from today's game, you (Tony) have no case against the Guinean goalkeeper.
The recent Suge Knight case you used as an analogy is equally wrong, because Suge Knight had both verbal and physical altercation with two Hollywood personalities in a parking lot and from his anger over that, he run over them with his vehicle. Here, Suge Knight had a clear motive for his action—it wasn’t accidental, but rather intentional.
You don't SUE players for rough tackling or SUE referees for bad calls, but rather deals with it, lick your wounds and move on. Conversely, you or your teammates or the team as a whole could be the victim today, but could also be the offender tomorrow in any contact sport.

" if it can be established that it was intentional".
If you saw the game, you may have missed that Yattara had his knee up and kicked hard behind him at Asamoah Gyan while the ball was in front of him, Yattara, away from the goal. What happened was not an accident and that's why he got the red card.
You must agree that people can hurt others on purpose. Should it be an established rule that because it's sports, they should get away with it? Even boxing has rules. You don't think Holyfield had a case against Tyson for biting off his ear? Is that part of boxing? The fact that Holyfield didn't pursue it does not mean he didn't have a case.

I've only one question for you, since you claim some players are hurt on purpose or intentional, which could be true, yet you can’t file a law suit against them.
**Now, the question: Give me and the other readers 4 to 5 instances, where a boxer, a player in Hockey, American football, basketball, soccer (football) or in any other contact sports was arrested or “prosecuted in court” for fouling or hurting an opponent—and you win your case, Tony. Else you’re just wasting time!!
Offending or rough tackling players (players breaking the game rules) are simply FINED, SACKED from the field or BANNED for some games, BUT NEVER PROSECUTED IN COURT—whether the offense was intentional or accidental in contact sports.
