Kwarasey is not and would never be better than any local goal keeper in Ghana. Hate Fatawu Dauda a million times and take it or leave it,Fatau is far better than Kwarasey. Ghana vs Germany at the world cup was a test for Dauda and he proved he had some guts and skill. He was scored twice and the so called German goalie was scored twice too by Ghanaian players. The same players who tried Kwarasey and Dauda at training grounds where Dauda beats Kwarasey to get the spot.
We now have equal platform to compare their abilities. Kwarasey was at AFCON 2012 in Guinea and we all saw his flops, especially aerial balls. Many gave him the benefit of the doubt with flimsy reasons; he is not used to African football(is African football square, or the posts are rounded with different heights?), he needs to be psyched (did he just began keeping?). We also saw Dauda at AFCON 2013 in South Africa. He was splendid, made eye catching saves and even won MAN-OF-THE-MATCH award as a goalie.
BRAZIL 2014 was the verdict as Kwarasey made poor showing blaming it on the keepers' trainer(were Dauda and Stephen trained by a robot or a Norwegian?). Kwarasey failed badly against USA. Though Fatau made a silly mistake by allowing Ronaldo a cheap goal, he equally saved some splendid attempts by the same Ronaldo(the best player in the world currently). Kwarasey would have disgraced Ghana against Germany by conceiving about five goals simply because of his lack of confidence at high profile tournaments. People should know that friendly matches and local league games are totally different from tournament and qualifiers where continuous confidence is key. This is what Dauda has and Kwarasey does not! He only performed well during friendly matches Ghana played; Ghana vs. Brazil and Ghana vs. Chile (matches without any pressure)These are the only matches Ghanaians use to praise Kwarasey. I'LL SAY IT AGAIN, HE IS NOT GOOD!

Nyantakyi filled a Brazil bound first class cabin with his family, thus depriving players their comfort and well-being to suit for the games hence the boy's abysmal, fatigue induced showing. Did he apologize for his indiscretion albeit his 'Bigman Life' to Ghanaians who sent him? When he showed laxity and incompetence over the boy's rage over the 'appearance Fee' that resulted in commotion, real dollar in flight, hand to hand combat, the Stars early exit associated with the high magnitude of public scorn and what have u, as a the sole manager of the group under whose watch all these happened, especially for causing the state lose money, did he resign and or regretted for his iniquities before Ghanaians? When he rushed into renewing mr AA's contract only to terminate it to pay for unwarranted restitution thus plunging the state into further losses, did he apologize for that hasty decision? When he lied to his teeth that GFA does not touch government money yet he became a paymaster by dishing out monies without corresponding receipts thus causing 'sikadie basabasa' in the process. Did he feel sorry for that and as to whether he was ever going to reimburse that tax-payers money? In the face of all these Nyantakyi's absurdities, he has had the nerve, the audacity, and high class impunity to present another capricious budget so he could maneuver the unpopular self created coefficient 7 formulae once again, may be for the last time. So deafore, between the incorrigible three and the incorruptible one(nyantakyi to be precised) who has to apologize so could be called/ continue his job? Over 2 u Joe Lartey. Do we go OR do we come? beat Me

Stop this nonsense. Did the locals from Ghana accord him any respect? Under Guran Stefanovic (?) , Kwarasey performed well. He lost only one friendly to Brazil and even in that match he performed admirably. I watched him in the friendly against Chile when on several occasions he denied the treble threat of Sanchez, Vidal and Vargas. The first competitive match he lost was AFCON 2012 against Zambia after Inkoom gave the ball away at the edge of the 18 yd box and the defense failed to close the Zambian attack.
At the WC 2014 Brazil, lazy and poor selection of defenders like Boye, Opare and Jon Mensah caused us the match against US.
Don't blame Kwarasey for anything but rather the inferiority complex filled locals like Coach Appiah, Boye, Gyan etc. What happened to Abeyie, Agogo, Dickoh, KPB ? Even Our beloved Essien and Muntari, two gallant sons who have served the BS exceptionally and have suffered serious career threatening injuries while on duty for Ghana?

Because of these attitude, we will continue to lose players of Ghanaian decent to other countries. We have failed to appreciate our players and we always backlash them because they have accepted to play for their motherland. kwarasey could have by now be the norway national team goalkeeper but he said he will play for Ghana and now look at how we treat him. KP Boateng who was once German best youth player could have been playing for the German team as his brother. How could we entice other players to play for Ghana with this behaviour? i think the black star would have been a solid team with players like memphis depay who is of Ghanian decent and now playing for netherland and jerome Boateng and the recent player that we lost to Germany.
Yooo we should continue with our corrupt attitude and that will let us win the world cup that we want

I think it is difficult for someone who did not grow up in Ghana to just show up and play wiht the Black Stars. The issue is there is an assumption concerning the ability to adjust. Not all foreign born and raised players are the same. Adomah can mix with the team quite easily. Kwarsey has a tougher time.

Kwarasey is a sacrificial lamb. Ghanaian leadership can now learn that players must be treated with respect unlike the days of the old when teachers could subject pupils to physical and mental abuse without facing any challenge. At least children born of Ghanaian parents in Diaspora are nurtured in different cultures where the views of the child are respected but Ghanaian coaches still hold to the status quo, the child MUST always accept what the leader says. Professional ethics differ from social values. While he complained his counterpart Dauda Fatawu proclaimed the very opposite; the goalkeeper coach was the BEST. Hmmmm. Well, being the best is from where one stands. But the lesson we can learn from this young man is that local Ghanaian coaches must also listen to their players if they want to be respected.

Kwarasey is not honoring invitation because of criticism. He is upset with the goalkeeper trainer and the fact that he lost his starting position. If criticism is the reason for not joining a team then how can he be a soccer player and get better? Look at Asamoah Gyan. Gyan went down on himself because of failure and criticism but has bounced back big. That is how being in the limelight is. Being treated unfairly by a technical staff is very serious and no where comparable to criticism. The GFA and the coaching stuff need to get their act together and clean all such mess to make all the players know and feel that competition for being on the team and for playing time is fair.

We can only speculate that he thinks the trainer favors Fatau and therefore not fair to him. Very interesting actually. Is it all his own imagination? Not sure. All I am saying is that his reasons for declining to join the team is deeper than just criticism. Also, it is possible he is fed up with all of GFA screw ups.

Nagumsi, I think you are saying the WC fiasco was Coach Appiah's fault. I have a feeling you don't know or understand what happened in Brazil. What can a coach do when players are not paid and don't want to play? Actually, the best coaches in the world will resign over such nonsense. But Appiah hanged in, took it all in and did his job. He wasn't really a good coach but did what he could. To put all of the teams' failure on him is not fair and nonsensical. Answer this question. Why did the government wait until he lost the players before flying in money to pay them? The GFA, the sports minister and the president deserve more of the blame. Wake up OK.

First of all, for the spinners trying so hard to make it look like players are boycotting the Black Stars, no it’s just Kwarasey only now declining to play for Ghana; everyone else is eager to be on the team. And Kwarasey’s problem has little to do with the GFA or the Black Stars technical handlers. He is simply frustrated because isn't good enough to be Black Stars #1 goalkeeper. Now see who is being arrogant towards Ghana... he was unknown if it wasn't for his stint with the Black Stars (lack-luster as it was). He wouldn't have his present contract in the US if it wasn't for the exposure he got from being in the posts for Ghana. Just like Kevin Boateng, he is a mediocre opportunist who now want deceives himself that he is somehow indispensable. He should enjoy his stint in the US while it lasts – how telling that he couldn’t find a club in Europe. Ghana should never ever invite his ass to give him another opportunity for re-exposure when his current little American market appeal fades.

Prince is a very different personality than Kwarasey. I think Kwarasey is shy and had trouble fitting in and thus he was an easy target. he did in fact benefit from the exposure but I do not think that was his goal. He really wanted to be a part of the Black Stars but it just was not a good fit. Prince, on the other hand was an arrogant personality who knew exactly what he was up to. He happened to play well at the 2010 WC so his plan to just show up for World Cups looked like it was going to work. Unfortunately for Prince, he was exposed this time. He is now an injury prone player who cannot repeat what he did at the 2010 WC.

Ali, you say Prince Boateng is mediocre and that is completely baloney. It means you don't know soccer. You can question his commitment but not his quality. Look, he is at par with Essien and Muntari and therefore among not the very best but the above average players in the world. Kwarasey is talented but doesn't give standout performance and therefore the back and forth between him and others for the starting position.

I understand your point about his current form. That's why I say he is not among the best in the world. But I also think mediocre is too a grade for KPB. How do you grade the other Ghana players then? They are crap, right?

They need to do some training abroad and learn from coaches like Mourinho how to deal with and handle big name players. You cannot rule with your archaic silly backward coaching methods and expect top class world footballers to respect you and accept your nonsense; your crude way of dealing with interpersonal relationships at work. These Ghanaian local coaches are not professional enough and they are not prepared to learn either. They have an attitude problem. Can you imagine a local Ghanaian coach managing Messi or Ronaldo? No wonder the Ghanaians who play abroad will take no nonsense from the likes of Konadu and co.
