Home sweet home. Sometimes it is very good to recognise your roots. My little advise to him is that he should control his temper and have confidence in institutions that make him B Dong Bortey. Good luck in your future plans.

U are surely one of the best players I've seen play for phobia. And u were very loyal to the oak tree....more grease to your elbow. Very talented lad

Bortey had a problem with taking without permission in Accra and we did him a tremendous disservice by not confronting him and forcing a change.He took that to other countries and embarrassed himself and destroyed his career.

allotey you made me develop goose pimples: i don't go to stadium often so 1 day i visited hearts training grounds i think @ the tail end 2001 and had the opportunity to compare donbortey, charles taylor, laryea kingson etc. laryea kingston was simply non-chalant could choose whatever he wants to do with the ball without fear or favour, charles taylor very quiet but trickery, ishmael clinical, kuffour opportunistic, allotey enthusiastic, copson grit & venturesome, awuley quaye junior very judicious,yartey as ingenious as ever although by then not the yartey of 1997/1999 etc but it was don bortey who stole my heart. he had so much in reserve. he doesn't need to force to propel the ball forward & looked humble throughout. he couldn't be disposed of the ball unless he gives it away himself on top of that a total team-player. Unfortunately for ghana football @ the time, some section of the inky fraternity embark on a campaign of vilification against don bortey, edmund copson, ishmael addo, yartey so that @ the national front they should just not be room for them in the blackstars mainly because they detested hearts of oak. then there was the political twist spearheaded by joe aggrey, alhaji jawula, etc who pushed the agenda; then of course the the business twist spearheaded by the late silas tetteh who started pushing his players all over and so far as those players could block places to an inform hearts players that was good. for instance in a particular muntari was one point in time or the other called into the starlets, then satellites the meteors, then blackstars. ishamel scored for the blackstars the first time when he came on in the second half but subsequently he was tagged a player for tommorow and delayed his entry into first team of the blackstars. djan also in his debut for the blackstars in the second half got a goal, then the media said new kid on the block and quickly regular strikers were getting being dropped and djan's place gradually consolidated.

What the Bible says that God is the father for the orphans or the weak is a truism. This should be a life teaching for us that when God gives us a talent we need to use it judiciuosly..... In deed you were a great and if not the best player Ghana has. You might be better than the Essiens, Gyans etc but The fear of the lord is the beginning of wisdom....

He was better than essien, muntari, asamoah gyan etc. but talent alone cannot bring u success. If it wasn't for his attitude he would've been great
