What does this Minister know about Soccer? If the Minister claims the GFA is a private entity, then his endorsement, or otherwise, of the GFA's decision to sack the Coach should not be registered in Public.

The WC failure was more from a breakdown in Administration of the Club, with the interference of Political elements. I do not expect a Private entity to be so much controlled by Political appointees. The many Deputy Ministers who kept shuffling financing documents all over, in the preparations of the Black Stars for Brazil, then, should not have been part of the Team's Preparation to play in Brazil.

I believe the dispute between the Coach and some of the Players, Muntari and Kevin Prince Boateng, especially, emanated from the perception that the Coach was part of the corruption that had been infused into the team's handling.

The tense atmosphere affected the performance of the Players. And the subsequent fallout from the WC failure is what haunted the team and the Coach till now.

By going back for an European Coach, are we not confirming the disparaging suggestion that Africans can never produce expert Soccer Coaches? Our Players also must do well to respect Native Coaches and not dismiss their guidance and inferior. It takes mutual trust and shared confidence between the Coach and Players to build a great Soccer Team.

I wish Kwesi all the best in his future endeavors.

I fully support what you`ve just said but Akwasi made a big mistake so far as the team is concerned,he failed horribly to unity the team, and that as trainer is fatal. Instead of holding the team as the leader of a fighting squad,he decided to be a member of GFA, as an adjutant to Nyanta & co.
When he saw that team was divided,instead of getting them together he chose to confront some players and set them up as scape-goats in case of any failure.No serious coach will act like the way he did at the mundial.
Akwasi was never his own man as the BS coach. With this type of benchroom coaching from GFA,I don`t think any Ghanaian can do the job .

After reading this article, I felt pity for my beloved country, Ghana not because coach Appiah lost his job. Here is my reason. One would think that GHANAsoccer.net as an institution will have its articles properly edited before it feeds the world with grammatical garbage.
The opening sentence reads
“Ghana’s Sports Ministry have backed the decision to sack Kwesi Appiah as Black Stars coach”
The sentence should have read, “Ghana’s Sports Ministry HAS backed the decision to sack Kwesi Appiah as Black Stars coach” The ministry is not plural
The fourth paragraph reads, “GFA has the operational responsibility in managing football in Ghana and they are supposed to exercise their judgment regarding what coach to use”
The sentence should have read, “GFA has the operational responsibility TO MANAGE football in Ghana and IT is supposed to exercise ITS judgment regarding what coach to use” Remember this is in quotes, so that is exactly what the MINISTER said. It is also possible that the editor made those grammatical errors.
Here is another quote from the article
“We hope that in exercising that judgment they have taken into consideration all the necessary factors that should have informed such major decisions because ultimately Ghanaians want to see well performing national teams”
The sentence should have read, “We hope that in exercising that judgment IT HAS taken into consideration all the necessary factors that should have informed such major decisions because ultimately Ghanaians want to see well performing national teams”
If those who call themselves journalist are feeding the public with such grammatical errors, it is no wonder that many students failed the SSCE examinations this year.

Every Tom, Dick and Harry calls himself “journalist”. Ghanaians also think we must do everything “local” when in fact we abandoned the idea of developing local languages in which already, newspapers and books were being published. With the drastic fall in standard of education fuelled by the cream of our population being semi-illiterate, and who hate anybody who tries to speak good English, the result is clear as water. The majority of Ghanaians at home and abroad are semi-illiterate and this sickness is the root of all our woes, be it in sports, politics or at church.

Football is an international sport and we should always look for competent coaches to do the job for us.The colour of somebody's skin or where he comes from should never be used to appoint a coach.If we ever appoint a Ghanaian coach it should be because he is competent and not because is a Ghanian or a Blackman . Infact, there are as many incompetent white coaches as there are incompetent black coaches. There are some white coaches who were unable to qualify their nations to the World Cup while some black coaches did qualify their countries. The rule of the game is about COMPETENCY and not the colour of the skin or where someone comes from. Otherwise, we will be as racist as the people we accuse of being racist.It is always beneficial to use our minds not not our hearts to take decisions when it comes to selecting our coaches.

Mahama Ayariga, the FA and the Serbian coach are all incompetent in their various roles. They all conspired to remove the Ghanaian coach because they all stand to gain from employing the Serbian as the national coach.
Ayariga is reported to have opined that the FA is a private organization and not a government Agency. But Mahama Ayariga is the brain behind the sacking of the Ghanaian coach. The NDC infested Black Stars Management Board and the management team used their majority in the management teams to remove Kwasi Appiah as part of a grand design to get the so called 'Ashanti Boys'from dominating football administration in the country. As a matter of fact, Kwasi Nyantakyi was the main target, and readers would recall that immediately after the World Cup, some so called football administrators in NDC colours mounted a vicious campaign for the removal of Kwasi Nyantakyi as FA president.
However, it became apparent that they were not abreast with the rules and statues of FIFA, and when it dawned on them later that they were fighting a losing battle, they decided to vent their spleen against Kwasi Appiah, and by extension Maxwell Konadu. The whole botch was NDC managed Coup d'etat, and the objective was to bring in Milo and provide him with an assistant coach who is predisposed to the vision and aspirations of the 'Oak Tree' Phobia.
The sports minister is aware of this grand design, and has been in talks clandestinely with Board members and the Black Stars management team to use their party overwhelming majority to vote Kwasi Appiah from office. It was obvious that only Kwasi Nyantakyi and couple of guys supported the retention of Kwasi Appiah.
Indeed, apart from the incompetent NDC government infiltrating sports administration in Ghana culminating in the removal of Kwasi Appiah, there is no justification for the removal of the Ghanaian coach in favour of the Serbian coach. Admittedly, the Serbian was the Head coach of the Black Stars in the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, but it was kwasi Appiah who did all the donkey work for the Serbian to take the credit.
Somebody should tell me the number of matches won with the teams he coached after parting company with the Ghana FA after the 2010 World Cup. Milo has no good record to his credit. In fact, until his engagement now, he was unemployed, because no team worth its sort would employ him. Those who brought him back have lost their sense of reasoning.
if so, then, what motivated the minister, the FA and the Board to conspire to remove Kwasi Appiah who has a better record of achievements than the Serbian. Greed, envy and the intrinsic witchcraft in some Ghanaians to bring a fellow Ghanaian in position of trust down.
Mahama Ayariga should not feign ignorance of the maneuvering he initiated to get the Black Stars coach sacked, and turn round to say something different to distance himself from this diabolical plan.
Sports remained the only sector of our national life that united the country. But with this political action of infiltrating Ghana sports administration, the division of the country along political lines has become a fait accompli.
I can assure the FA that if they bring the Black Stars under Milo to play any match in Kumasi, and lose, the safety of the FA officials at the Stadium cannot be guaranteed.
