It is their turn. There was a time the teachers went to Agege, then the lecturers and the the medical staff to Saudi Arabia etc. We need a comprehensive plan that is why politicians are voted into power not just for them to be heads of delegations.

This is why the gfa executive cmtee needs to be made up of the club owners. In the premier lg. In Ghana, I simply don't understand why non club owners are part of the executives. It makes no sense!.....This must change ASAP! Gfa must look at what the epl, german lg, so African lg, Kenya and naija lg are doing to be financially sustainable. Should each club charge gate fees, own a stadium, have tv rights, a minimum player salary, star players should advertise for sponsors, products etc, market star players well for economic advantage, sell sports merchandise, sell season tickets etc.....others are already doing these. So why can't gfa sit down with the premier lg club owners, ppl like abedi, Yeboah, baffoe, desailly,.kuffour,.odartey and brainstorm ideas...huh? Instead, we have clueless, stomach direction ppl like jawula, akenteng, ben kuofie who don't have any financial stake in the clubs. Making decisions? Bullshit!

Why do unwanted to shift blame? Only in Ghana will u see a gfa head as club owner know the premier lg. This is called conflict of interest. U think the nba, nhl, nfl, mlb will allow a league commissioner the chance to own a club in the league? Never!

Rape cases are on the increase in Ghana. Judges and WAJU of the Ghana police force must do more to protect our society. Some people have become so notorious of raping and getting away with it. Many believe that it is a weapon capable of scarring individuals to the very soul and seize the least opportunity to use it; using it on the families of their political or business competitors. Not even those at the higher echelons of our society must get away with it. It is said that a man paid a student to rape the daughter of his business and political competitor. The rapist got away with it.
The number of court houses and judges in Ghana are inadequate especially in the Eastern Region of Ghana. The population has ballooned and changes have to be made. The same can be said of the number of police officers and the number of penitentiaries. On a visit to a number of court houses around the country I found the Ghana flag and the Ghana Coat of Arms (Seal) absent. This must change.

All your massive industries are foreign owned which jhave other priorities. You can't expect to sponsor soccer just like they do in South Africa which is the host country. The same for the mining co,mpanies they are not into soccer in their countires how do you expect them to sponsor some where else. finally the politics involved prevents genuine entrepreneurs to involve themselves. if you are not in cohorts with the riling party the Pull Him Down starts. rather enjoy your money quietly. money is business now.Only countreis like SA, Nigeria, North African countries, TP Mazembe run by a multi dollar millionaire , oil countries are well offin Africa due to economics.

Lack of professional football structures in the country is the main cause of the problem but both officials of your ministry and the GFA have no interest to develop professional football structures in Ghana because of the fear of ending the usage of football to enrich themselves. With professional football structures in Ghana, the football talents will be scouted be FIFA attested Agents offering on written contracts to manage the development of their (football talents)career and marketing them to clubs at their very early ages and latest at the age of 17. The agents will be responsible for clubs, and sponsorships for the talents as well as the contracts between the clubs and sponsors. In this way the exploitation of our talents and later footballers both in Ghana and outside will be kept at the minimum. Had Ghana such a structure, there would have been no way for the GFA to appoint or employ 7 management committee members and 10 technical team taking home the same or almost the same the amount like the players as appearance fees. Germany that won the world cup has only one manager in the person of Oliver Bierhoff. Though a former national player of the German National team with MBA, Bierhoff is not a member of the German Football Federation. He enters into agreements with German football Federation on behalf of the team concerning accommodation, bonus (appearance fees)etc in consultation with team and the technical team. Mr Minister please for once put the interest of the country`s future in football before the selfish interest of individual officials and make sure the right thing is done at the right time

Another misguided colonial mentality!!! What do you mean by
"main cause of the problem but both officials of your ministry and the GFA have no interest to develop professional football structures in Ghana because of the fear of ending the usage of football to enrich themselves" ?
Who owns the clubs and pays the footballers? How do you expect them to pay the payers? You will rather want our footballers to be exploited by outsiders with FIFA agent tags. Agents work for clubs but are not responsible for clubs.
Go back and learn and stop mixing Federation, club and national team structures. Note that the GFA does not belong to the government of Ghana. In the same way that the Ghana Bar Association,Ghana Medical Association or GNAT does not belong to the government.
The problems you are trying to correct are mainly from the politicians. You forgot to ask whether Angela Mirkel tried to negotiate German football players bonuses because she is the Chancellor and thinks the government pays the football coach. Ghana needs a complete structure that factors in all the organisations involved in sports and not football only.
He the Minister was the head of delegation to Glasgow and the team had to go to nearby shops to buy the kits ? What are the duties of all the numerous sports organisations and heads?

Nana do you have an agenda to throw dust into people eyes to prevent the right to be done in Ghana or your are just being ignorant but want to say something. The various clubs have the scouts who search for players and talents for the clubs but every professional footballer including the few successful ones playing at least in Europe has their own Agents/Managers. What prevents Ghanaians from squiring the FIFA tags to qualify to manager our footballers to put an end to the exploitation of our footballers and the destruction of the careers of our football talents? Clubs are non governmental but registered Association owned by their members and governed by their constitutions and the constitutions of the countries where they registered just like the GFA, FIFA,and African Football Federation. The clubs being members of GFA, AFF and FIFA are also governed by the Constitutions of the three. The players are employees of the clubs. There is no association seeking the interest or guiding the talents through their career and life after their football career. German law enforcing office will never allow an executive member of the German Football Federation or a civil servant who takes part in deciding the bonus of the German team enjoys the same bonus or has his or bonus peg to that bonus. If you don`t ask why the immediate past President of Germany Wolf has to resign and was prosecuted?

Is Anthony not an Employee of the GFA and the FIFA coordinator at the just ended world cup tournament in Brazil? Is Anthony Baffoe a professional footballer? Did Anthony Baffoe not play professional football in the nineties when played for Dusseldorf and the Blackstars with Abedi Pele and Yeboah? By the way how many active professional footballers do live in Ghana? The name of an Association has in most cases has nothing or very little to do with its membership or work. Even if Tony Baffoe`s Professional Footballers Association Ghana were to seek the interest it would and cannot replace the much needed structures for the development of professional football in Ghana.

No Anthony is not an employee of the GFA. They have quiet a number in Ghana since the league is considered a professional one. Do you mean players who have played in foreign leagues and are back home. If that is your definition then it is flawed because you can not apply it to other professions. They have their own association which is affiliated with GFA,FIFA and FIFPro, PFA etc. He is also a member of some FIFA committees and worked as FIFA WC final match coordinator. What I want to point out to you is that you have to understand the problem very well before you start coming out with solutions. The guys working in football are also into business and will love the game to develop for all to make more money. However, as in any business you just do not go adding structures if it is not going to add to the bottom line or improve your lot especially in a third world economy.

I visited FIFA website FIFA.com to find out if there exist any record of the acclaimed Black Stars haven played the most attractive football against Germany, also to see if there is anything in FIFA award records that recognises "attractive football". There was nowhere mentioned or written FIFA ever officially made any sich statements apart from what the Ghanaian football authorities have manufactured to ease their pain of Brazil world cup poor performances. It has become very customary in Ghana to resort to excuses for failures in almost all sphere of our daily lifes, excuses sits well in our fabricks because we have been made to believe that no one else does anything better than the Ghanaian. So therefore when our national teams performs woefully it must either be the referees, the coaches, the officials, the goalkeepers, the flight schedules or the wrong passes not directed to the right players. Otherwise how can Ghanaians revel in the baseless passing comments of someone to claim they played the most attractive soccer at the world cup. Probably FIFA will as from Ghana's self acclaimed "attractive football" begin to give awards in that efforts. What a people with deep rooted naivity. Oh! Ghanaians.

This is well said but this is a problem we all know has existed for decades but no proactive actions has been taken to stem it but only cheap talk but none has dared to walk the talk.Let us first accept the fact that humans remain humans and in desperate situations take desperate actions.Every move that you make comes with a risk but these young fellows will dare take it because they see know help in site so they get desperate and what is more they see past players such as our old maestro Osei Kofi,Kwasi Wusu,Keeper Botwe and several others who stayed home to give their all to their mother Ghana pro bono only to end up today old and poor so I do not blame them when they make those risky desperate moves.People have taken them for a long ride for far toooo long.Lets us start with out premier teams such as Kotoko this team has been in existence for donkey years with all of leaders with hollow promises of building them a stadium since we were young in Kumasi about 50 60 years ago but look where we are now so guess where all the money went it is all about "Yen nkye ni",then look at Hearts of Oak same old story, look at B/A United,Bofakwa,Kumasi Corners,Vipers,Eleven Wise etc.all same old so when it comes to Ghana Soccer there is nothing to write home about.Very sad indeed.

OTHERS WOULD RETIRE AND THE VERY NEXT DAY GO FROM COMPANY TO COMPANY SEEKING EMPLOYMENT. WHAT KIND OF RETIREMENT IS THAT? NOT ALL OF US CAN BE BUSINESSMEN. SOME OF US CANNOT STEAL FROM OUR WORKPLACES TO PROVIDE A NEST EGG FOR RETIREMENT. THE SANE AND SENSIBLE THING TO DO IS TO GO ELSEWHERE WHERE YOU CAN GET A REASONABLE PENSION UPON RETIRING. FOOTBALLERS HAVE LEARNT FROM THEIR PREDECESSORS. WHY SHOULD THE MAESTRO, OSEI KOFI OF KOTOKO AND OF GHANA BE GIVEN A TEA KETTLE AS AN AWARD AFTER HIS VALUABLE SERVICES TO GHANA? THE LESSON WE ALL LEARN IS THIS: IF YOU DO NOT LOOK OUT FOR YOURSELF, NOBODY WILL LOOK OUT FOR YOU. THAT IS WHY WE MUST ALL SEEK GREENER PASTURES. POLITICIANS GIVE THEMSELVES BIG LOANS THEY HAVE NO WAY OF PAYING BACK; CORRUPT BUSINESSMEN ORGANIZE JUDGEMENT DEBTS TO MAKE THEMSELVES FINANCIALLY SECURE.
