The parrasite nature of Ghanaian business men is exactly what has informed the mentality of most Ghanaians to depend mostly on Government virtually everything in life. Suppoters Clubs are even not exonerated from this parrasitic mentality such that supporters clubs keep springing up everyday in order to take advantage of free government free money. Uh! When will Ghanaians learn to shun laziness and work hard for a meaningful lifestyle devoid of everything must come from government mentality. Short cut to making money is the hallmark of most Ghanaians especially if it has to do with football, no wonder football in Ghana has been narrowed down to Black Stars only. It's a shame.

Call a spade a spade. There will be no musician/drummer. Just a juju man and we still will not win a single match. What will be the excuse this time?

if there is a need for a drummer, then i can assure you ghana has so many drummers for one person to be enjoying such monopoly. he has been to two world cups and it is time if it is neccessary to take a drummer to allow competition so other people also go in to entertain.

This has never been heard from anywhere except Ghana. Is Nigeria and the rest of the African nations included in the WC tournament going to pay such amount for their enternainers too? Is Afriyie Ankrah really telling the nation he is in support of that? Is he saying no one could be found to accompany the team to play for free? For the fact that one may have the opportunity to witness a WC tournament live is a big pay check of its own. Many could be found to play for free so why spend more than even 50 dollars?
Moreover, can anyone among these players play it just for fan? I'm not saying the jama spirit in the players are is not helping or hyping the players. Sometimes it does because we are used to it. However, to spend even 100,000 dollars on one player for such an activity is too much. Some of us are trying not to say a word but this is going too far.
I'm certain we may see many people playing these same drums to support their nation teams in Brazil just for doing it sake. Oh Ghana, when are we going to change? Wasting money for nothing.

Massa, gone were the days when people were doing things for free. In those days they did things any how, now it's pure business and even if you're ready to play for free, we'll still have to audition you to be sure you really know what your doing. I have a little girl here who owns a toy bongo and she thinks she's the best drummer in the whole wide world. This is serious business. Check from the other nations and you'll realize they all will take along one person or the other whose responsibility is to entertain the players. Prior to a tension packed match, you don't only need a psychologist but also some kind of entertainment to help ease tension.

Let me take you back to 2009 U-20 WC. Who was druming for them? Go back and verify, POW. It was Dominic Adiyiah who drummed for that team. Wasn't he among the players? Can you tell me who auditioned him for that contract? Now, let me ask again. When have you heard GFA auditioning for drummers for tournaments before? Who labled the one they have picked as the best in the country? If we are going to pay such an amount, don't you think others should be invited for audition too? Why should it be the same person.
Let us call a spade a spade, POW. Don't get me wrong, the players need the entertainment to release their tension as both of us stated. On the other hand, do we have to pay almost or even over half a million (500,000) dollars for a drummer? Calculate the amount indicated and divide it by 10 people. Certainly, a drummer wouldn't be paid as Mariana Kvacevic would be. However, with the figure given, I don't think he would be given less than 100,000 for a month tournament.
Now, do you think it make sense to spend such an amount on such a contract?
I rest my case, POW.

The minister will used all kinds of means to justify what they want to do. So sad for Ghana. Elvis Ankrah is a disappointment in this matter. When we won the U-17, U-21, did we send a drummer? We say anything to the people of Ghana because we cannot stand up and defend what we believe in. In events like these we all wished we could be there but that should not be at the expense of the few taxpayers money. Its so sad, very sad for Ghana sports. All we think about is how to exploit a situation for capital gains.
More importantly, is how bankrupts our morals have become. The minister is a product of University of Ghana, and was NUGS president during his time, and survived some turbulent student legal issues, But this goes to show that our educational system does not in anyway get us educated. We never use anything we learn in school, just another way of pseudo-intellectualism. if the educated are not really educated, what happens to the half-educated or the uneducated. I am just sad....

I am glad the Minister has not named all the 10 member "core technical" team. There should be every resistance not to yield to Ghanaian media pressure. Other countries are doing their homework in secrecy. It's only in Ghana that these technical matters are being discussed in public. And our opponents are watching. Don't forget all have Diplomatic Missions in Ghana. We must be discreet and shrewd if we want to succeed.
