As much as I like watching Blackstars playing in the world cup, I will rather we select only Patriotic players willing to play the game for the love of country. I don't mind paying for the winning bonus but none of them should be paid a dime for apoearance fees and any player not willing to play can be asked to get off the team. This is nonsense and highway robbery. These Players always talk about how they love and willing to play for Ghana. I will rather we send Wassaman to represent Ghana and get our tail whipped 20-0 than to pay this armed robbery ransome.

No wonder the technical team are always being accused of taking bribes in Player selection. A lot of Players I believe will be willing to pay. At least each Player is assured of $300,000 pay day even if they don't win a game with the three group matches.

The Blacks Stars are not a band of mercenaries who play for the dough nor play if the price is right. They are the flower of the Republic and exponents of our artistry, determination and valour and embodiment of the collectve "Forward Ever Backward Never" war cry. Should they be paid for this. If yes, then how much? If no, then why not?

When the Black Stars take the battlefield in Brazil in June 2014, how much injury insurance money does each player have to pay. Who is responsible for paying this money? Is GFA responsible or the player have to pay this?

Is the $100,000 appearance fee the reimbursement payment of players' lost club wages due to WC2014? This must be explained clearly. Will part of the $20m budget go to this payment?

Should any payment to the Black Stars be linked to results? Maybe yes. Each opponent of the Black Stars at every stage is formidable. We are facing USA, Germany and Portugal for sure! If GFA agrees to pay this $100,000, then the Black Stars battle under the slogan " $100,000 for each victory" It could be a good idea after all . Then this gregarious Black Stars have an incentive to die for and they will play to the death just as the Spanish conquistadores' quest for gold drove them on until they were eventualy victorious in the conquest of the Aztec empire. The outcome could be good for both sides: Ghanaians and the Black Stars.

It should be noted that some of the Black Stars are demanding this money upfront because they don't want to be bamboozled by vain promises of the government. Most of the past promises to the Black Stars have woefully not been fullfilled. Some want the money to be part of their retirement plans.

Pay per win, REGARDLESS OF THE LEVEL, because every level is important, since all levels lead to a tournament's title:

African qualifiers, $5,000 per player per win.
African tournaments, $10,000 per win.

WC qualifiers, $10,000 per win.
WC tournaments, $20,000 per win.

All friendlies:
If the opponent is below the top 30 in in FIFA's latest ranking, $10,000 per win.

If ranked from 1 to 30, $20,000 per win.

Nothing for draws, and certainly zilch for losses, regardless of any accusations directed at the ref.

However, since such fees are not regular salaries, but gratuities, they MUST be TAXED at a higher rate for our "bonofriend (poor) nation Ghana", which has only about 2 million people paying some form of taxes to the state.

Some of the black stars players should consider their participation in the world cup as a privilage and the training ground for them to catch the eyes of a team which is recruiting players in Europe and other markets to enable them get contracts.

They were paid 75K in 2010 and we know the result. Now they should only be paid 100K when they make it to the second round. So, those who want the money before participating should be given 75K then 25K after making it to the 2nd round. The amount however should be paid in Ghana Cedi period! If any player wants it in dollars, the Forex Bureaus are many in Ghana to change the Cedis to Dollars for them.

It is immoral if government is not deducting taxes on them. The money that the government is using to pay them come from taxes. You cannot sue people in court if you (the government) itself is aiding and abetting as well as conniving to evade tax. In Europe, even when the government is paying a monthly student support of 280 EUR it still deducts taxes on it leaving you about 260 EUR a month. It will be extremely unfair if no taxes are deducted from such huge sums!

Going to the world cup is to their own benefit. I am beginning to doubt if some of our old horses can even deal with the level of competition at the worldcup.
