in 1987 thereabouts dauda & silas were assistants to coach owusu ansah of powerlines when preko was a colts player. by 1992 preko & maxwell konadu were members of the under 23 team. today dauda is assitant to maxwell konadu. could dauda be psychologically submissive enough to konadu when even judging from the english dauda speaks he seemed to be fairly well educated. wouldn't maxwell be psychologically intimidated by an assitant who was playing football when maxwell was a toddler?

he was not good enough to be called into the blackstars.
it is just proper that the top most team dominates the national team. opoku nti if you recall in 1982-1984 on the average 10 players of kotoko were in the blackstars where you played a key role. that was around the time kotoko won the african cup. however, the example you cited of jones attuquayfio was unnecessary. jones attuquayfio used hearts players in only 2 matches. he was subjected to soo much criticism so much so that he was booted out by a team led by alhaji jawula, mr owusu ansah, mr joe aggrey etc such that those hearts players who performed so well in annexing the champions league were ever prevented from making it to the national team subsequently.
at that time impression was falsely created that hearts fortunes were tied to ET mensah so immediately NDC came out of government everything was done to banished hearts out. that was why cracking players like mireku, copson, ishmael addo, don bortey never got a footing in the blackstars.
so opoku nti i don't have any qualms about kotoko players dominating the local blackstars and i think that criticsm is misplaced. however, let me take you back to history from 1976 - 1979 when hearts held sway over ghana football, it was only ofei ansah, adolf armah, anas seidu and mohammed polo who made it into the the blackstars team in 1978 and they really had to compete streniously for positions in the first eleven. in 1978 for instance kyenkyenhene played more matches in the left half back position than adolf armah. yet with just 2 outings adolf armah was voted africa's best left half back and went on to be africa's second best the following year placing second to goal keeper nkono.
opoku nti let me take you back to 1970 1971 when kotoko won the african cup. kotoko had almost 10 players in the national team. that was also fair. you could not ignore robert mensah, oliver acquah, ibrahim sunday, malik jabir, yaw sam etc when selecting players for the national team.
however, when hearts is dominating the story is different. players are sought from somewhere else.
i agreee that at the moment hearts do not have the players to be in the local blackstars although i think ashietey ollenu, gilbert fiamenyo and nuhu sule could make it. apart from these 3 hearts do not have players who could make it looking at other players with other clubs presently and i think sending moro abubakar back home was in order.
however, it is agonising to see kwesi appiah frustrating an inform mahatma otoo by calling and refusing to use him even when first choice players are not available(JAPAN FRIENDLY) while on the otherhand kwesi appiah has been shepheading a limited rashid sumaila into the team and safeguarding a place for the short and smallish afful when we have better players like nii david addy and kissi boateng.
the last match ghana played it was soo suprising that kwesi appiah would ddrop mahatma otoo for dominic adiyiah.
again lord of the green turf, take note that whe coach herbert addo was in charge of the local blackstars it was not aduana playerss who dominted the team. it was rather chelsea playes who dominated and rightly so.

Look at the current players of Black Stars and count how many come from or originated Kotoko..very few..most of our best and dependable players did not come from Kotoko..Asamoah Gyan, Kwojo Asamoah, Agyeman Badu, Isaac Vorsah, samuel Inkoom, fatau dauda, and many others...This is because it was a foreign coach who recruited them into team..they all came from these new teams that have joined the ghana league and not kotoko, hearts and others...This is the reason why some fans dont like local coaches because most have affiliations with local teams and give preferential treatments to players of those teams..and so if fans are complaining about too many kotoko players in the local black stars, they are right.
