When he first moved to the UAE, he was lambasted for moving to a mediocre football league in the desert with the prediction that his output as an international striker will be negatively affected. Even when he started banging in the goals at his new club, the pessimists were still not satisfied claiming he was scoring because of third class opposition and amateurish defenders and urging him to move back to an European Club if the chance arose. Now it appears Gyan has eventually won the hearts of his detractors and the doubting Thomases. Personally, I will welcome the move to West Ham on condition that he will be regularly in action. I think it will greatly prepare him for whatever opposition he is going to encounter in Brazil. Certainly he is going to be a marked man in Brazil and he is also going to meet more hardened and experienced defenders. Either way I wish him the best of luck and pray that he stays injury free. I also wish our magnificent captain and the rest of the Black Stars and the technical team A Very Happy and Glorious New Year.

Besides, it's also meant to be a lone-move for 6 months so Gyan should consider this.
He will be a good shape for the WC as a result of playing in a higher league plus he can return to Al Ain after the WC and who wouldn't want Gyan banging the goals for GH in the WC. My opinion!

What he needs now is to keep himself fit and maintain his form by playing week after week in readiness for Brazil.
There is so much danger in a move to, say West Ham United. This is a team under the threat of relegation and they expect Asamoah Gyan to save them out. This is a burden that can break Asamoah Gyan down before the world cup.
It is easier for a good player to shine in a strong team than in a weak team. The good practice therefore is to woe star players into good teams that are aiming to achieve something high. Football is a team work and to expect one player to help a team avoid relegation is a deadly trap.
Gyan will therefore damage his availability for the world cup if he goes to West Ham United.

Football is a team work and all the players can score goals depending on how the team plays and how the opponent responds. For instance, John Mensah a defender scored more goals than Gyan in AFCON 2013; this does not mean that John Mensah was a better striker than Gyan. If you really know Gyan, you will appreciate that Gyan apart from scoring himself, is good at setting up others to score.
