These boys earn a lot of money. But truth is, that is the language they understand now. The days of the Kofi Badus, the Abbreys, the Emmanuel Quarshies, etc are gone. Now, it's all about money, unfortunately.
Please this is not the time to preach morality.

The kind of hatred and jealousy that existed during Rawlings' AFRC/P-NDC era is back. VODEC or whichever company it is should organize their workers or people to go play for the National Team. It's absolutely crazy to hear some people or organizations make such stupid statements, that the bonuses for the Black Stars should be reduced for the sake of poor people. It's absolutely nonsense! VODEC should call the Black Stars to quit WC-2014 in Brazil. It's unbelievable to hear such statement.

Ghana shd aspire to provide decent standard of living for all its citizens and eschew large disparity in income and standard of living....There is homelessness, hopelessness and high unemployment...graduate engineers from KNUST cannot find employment...Ghana has too much serious problems to be awarding such large bonuses to footballers..I believe it much higher than even oil-rich Nigeria is awarding its champion team..Ghana should learn from Botswana, a country with the highest per capita income in Africa but avoid ostentation and provide decent standard of living and opportunities for its citizens....Their MPs do not award themselves large salaries and bonuses to rip off the country as Ghana...Nyantekyi feels he should also get his share...the higher the bonuses the players get, the higher the bonuses that goes ton Nyantekyi and GFA cronies...Most of the players are just satisfied with Ghana giving them the opportunity to market their talent.....There many players ready to play for free

The size of our MPs is superfluous. How many of them meet the people they represent in a year? Both the NPP and NDC are blameworthy of this unreasonable spending.Constituencies must be merged to save more money for the poor.

Ghana should go for the broke against Egypt. No mercy, please. Burkina Faso, Ivory coast and Nigeria have done west Africa proud going by the results of the first leg of matches. Ghana should follow the line and go for goals. No complacency , please.Increasing winning bonuses is always a distraction. The players are rich enough and want to go to the world cup. The desire to be at the world cup is every national Team Player's dream and this is the motivation that is above paying huge sums as winning bonuses. Nigeria have since cut winning bonuses for the super eagles from $10,000 per player to $5,000 per player and the players have come to terms with the reduction.

Excellent post Nijaboy. I watched your game yesterday...... you guys need to up your game...you made Ethopia look like Spain. You also benefited from a mistake by the ref/assistant ref. In the world cup Hawk Eye/goal line technology would have meant that the disallowed goal in the first half would have stood!

My dear ERN, you probably watched a different match since you claimed we were lucky. I guess you would have been happier if Nija had left. You also wrote with the arrogance of classifying other teams as minniws since you claimed we made ethiopia to appear like Spain. mY dear brother, there are no minnows anymore in African football. Even brazil would have struggled against Ethiopia with the high altitude of 7,677 ft. Please google the effect of altitude on football result. Please purge yourself of arrogance. The Ehiopians played like a set of school boys that wanted to impress their principal whilst the super eagles played with some calm. The first half was in their favour becaise of the wind position. The second half was different. By the way, didnt you see we were denied a clear penalty call earlier and that the goal by the Ethiopians that the referee allowed wasnt a goal. You probabbly didnt see that since you wanted us to lose. You advised us to up our game? that we have been doing with our young crop of players. The holdest player on the pitch is enyamam who has been manning the post since 10 years ago. The rest are in their 20's. One thing i must also tell you is that qualifiers bring the worst in most teams all over the world. Ask Uruguay etc. Even when Ghana defeated zambia in kimasi, Ghana played poorly due to the pressure of qualification. So, eschew your arrogance , pride and hatred and pray we have 4 west african teams (ghana, nigeria, ivory coast and burkina )going to the world cup. There are no longer small teams any more.

I really hate it when people or organisations pick up on an issue and try to manipulate it for their personal or political gain.
Yes, we all agree that $15,000 may be a high amount to award as bonuses, and we all agree that the players have a lot of their own money anyway, but why try and twist it to suit a political agenda?
"We should instill discipline, patriotism and eschewing corruption, bribery and selfishness"----what has black stars bonuses got to do with all this nonsense (apart from partiotism).
"The call for youth leaders is necessary" - how will a reduction in Black Stars bonuses achieve a call for youth leaders?
"Our country needs to be lifted from the quick sand of injustice to the solid rock of brotherhood"---what has black stars bonuses got to do with this?
Infact, the whole article is pointless and littered with grammatical errors.
"leaders in authority who were involve " -----this should read "who were INVOLVED"
"for just a ninety (90) minutes" -----what do you mean just a ninety? ninety is MORE THAN 1, so you do not need to use "a"!!
I mean, seriously, this is just POOR. And then you steal Martin Luther King's lines and massacre it with your nonsense!
Complete and utter bullshit!!

I truly buy into this proposal. The players are Ghanaians and they can sacrifice for Mother Ghana. To promote effective sports participation requires all to be satisfied rather than a few.

The promise has already been made and you should know by now that soccer at this level is not cheap. I think your focus is misplaced, millions of state funds are diverted by public officials on daily basis. That's what is killing development of this country not the "once in a while" huge payday for players. BSs play matches of this nature once in a blue moon. I think you should rather fight to end corruption in our dear land to free up more funds for development. It's not even clear if the funds will be used for the intended purpose if it was made available. Go suck a thumb, damn it!
