Stephen Appiah: I can play at the top level again

The former Black Stars captain is sure that his playing days are not over yet, and can play at the top level again

A former Ghana skipper Stephen Appiah has emphasised that he is still strong and can play at the highest level again if he gets the chance.

The 32-year-old playmaker believes he still has lots of years to exhibit his talent at the top most level again and he is training towards that.

“I can play at the top level again. I am training hard. I do not give up so easily. I have a big heart and strong character so giving up is not part of my life,” Appiah told Goal Ghana.

“Still the skill is there. I am fit and have passion for the game, I am not frustrated at all at the right time things will work out.”

Appiah added: “The sad thing is that my kids are now growing and they always say they do not see me playing on TV again.”

The hugely talented Appiah, who has featured for clubs including Udinese, Parma, Brescia, Juventus, Fenerbahce and Cesena, failed to extend his four months contract with Vojvodina which ended last year.

A move to Iranian side Persopolis last summer could not also materialise.
