I agree with you when you suggest some players be added to the team. Your suggestions were good and Silas Tetteh should do his best to include them. I know its hard but he should speak to the players who would have the axe and probably the nation should reward them extra for getting the team to Turkey. I followed the team here in London and was so impressed with their performance although there is much work to do to reach the heights of the Victorious 2009 Team. Our group in turkey is tough and every team is coming with theeir very best but for injury so if we dont have any injury worries, the team should be beefed up and more especially taught PENALTY kicks from now. The trick in penalty kicks with European goalkeepers is to be patient with your kick as the keepers mostly move before the ball is played so when a player keeps his eye on the keeper with patience, there is no way he will miss as he will see and exploit the gap left by the keeper to score. I wish the team well as I ve bought tickets to see them with my 9yr old, a knee follower of Ghana football(dreams2 play 4 Ghana 1day) in Turkey. Please coachTetteh add these new players as stated in this article especially D. Pappoe of Chelsea as his height & experience will help us in free kicks & Corners; the axed players should be given tickets by the govt to accompany the team to Turkey as part of their compensation & learning curve as their services might be needed in the future. Iheard the Egypt coach say that he has had his team for 4 years; let us learn from this. If we had kept the 2009 winning team together since then, they could play a good part in Brazil 2014. Football is teamwork, love and understanding of eachother not forgetting the willtodie and sacrifice for the team; thus why Narh won the fair play award as a striker who never scored a single goal in 5 matches as a striker but his contribution to the team was selfless. Good Luck satellites; Tettehplease listen to us as we are with u in prayers n wish u well.

Many of them are knocking at the door of the Black Stars senior team already, so those who are dragging their feet must watch out.

Second place is not a bad result but in truth this team needs overhauling if Ghana is to make it's mark at the World Cup in Turkey. Some of the boys were promising but there was a lot of inexperience display which clearly showed at certain stages of their matches. What the team possesses was fighting spirit but we were second best to the Egyptians in the final and even in the semis against Mali. For me this team's performance was far below that of the Continental and World Cup winning squad of 2009 and needs to be revamped. Let's hope more of the overseas based stars whose teams refused to release them will be available for the World Cup. I think it will be suicidal if we think this squad will be able to repeat the feat of 2009 in its current make up.

We can make use of Jordan Ayew in the team; That's where he belongs not the Black Stars.Send him to the U20 WC and let him prove himself like Dede did, then after that he can make noise about a position in the Black Stars!

Our problem has been that we dominate at the junior levels of tournament due to using overage players, but they cannot perform at the senior stage when they meet their peers. The Ghana teams that were winning U17, U20 and U23 tournaments a number of years ago should now be winning the world cup, but where are they?
This problem applies to Africans as a whole, not only Ghana. We think we are smart by fielding overage players, but we are only cheating ourselves.
Until we understand that the under, under tournaments are meant to expose and nurture talent, we will never succeed. We treat the U17 tournament as if it is our ALL, then we cannot perform on the world stage.

interesting reading. but i don't think agyemang badu has the skills finese & quickness of moses odjier. secondly it is unneccessary to gate crushed anybody into the blackstars from this team. that practice has often not helped us in the past. in 2010 for instance it was only when the coach ate humble pie and introduced asamoah djan, haminu dramani, hans adu sapei and michael essien that the blackstars got balanced and made it to the finals. if gate crushing is done it will send pointers that the players may not be truly under 20 players. it is only in ghana that youth players get quick entry into the senior team, then after a few years become veterans or retired players. opoku agyemang, samuel nkoom, for instance.

I think that when there is a good crop of under 20s, they should be the bulk of the AFCON team along with a mix of some critical senior players. The WC should lean more towards senior players with an inclusion of youngsters.
