It is sad that it has come to this. I am not holding any brief for the coach and the GFA, but it is highly unethical for someone to hit the nation below the belt at a time when they know that the country is down and vulnerable as a result of the 2013 AFCON debacle. The Ayews may have legitimate reasons for their displeasure with the GFA but at this time when the country is wailing? This says volumes about their commitment and concern for the country they profess to love. There is one thing I know, that the nation Ghana is more than its individual parts. Essien, Asamoah Gyan and KPB may all have their legitimate reasons for their early retirements but none happened when the country was "mourning" from terrible losses, when the country was vulnerable and trying to pick up the pieces together. Instead of offering words of comfort, you turn around and stab us in the back. Let it be clear that this country was founded based on two axioms: the NEVER SAY DIE spirit of Accra Hearts of Oak and KUM APEM A APEM BEBA slogan of Kotoko. Ghanaians are a very resilient bunch and will always find a way out of any problems. No one is indispensable, not even the late President Kwame Nkrumah. If it is the will of God to glorify Ghana through soccer, no individual talent can prevent that. It will be suicidal on the part of anybody to assume he/she can hold the nation at ransom because of some personal grudge with some elements in the GFA. Ghana has survived worse conditions, and will surely overcome this. This is a total disrespect for the nation and I will urge the GFA to call the bluff of the Ayews on this one.

I was very happy when Akwasi Appiah was appointed Black Stars coach. Now, I am beginning to think he's not the right person for the job. I suspect Akwasi Appiah is not comfortable around some of these players based abroad probably due to his inability to communicate effectively with them and hence his decision to drop them or demote them. Within this short period as Black Stars coach, Akwasi Appiah has created so much controversy and destroyed team chemistry. The only way forward is to get rid of this Nyantakyi joker and start afresh with a new coach. I don't blame the Ayew brothers.

Having said that, one cannot forget his controversial wrestling of captainship from Akwasi Appiah who happens to be the coach of the BS at the moment. Dont forget that Appiah captained the team throughout the qualification series and played Francophone countries in the process only for the GFA at that time ( Senegal '92) coniving with Abedi to strip Appiah of the captainship with the excuse that Appiah do not speak French. That was the genesis of division in the BS that resulted in a whole generation of quality players that included Frimpong Manso, Ampiah, Edward and Salifu Ansah, Tony Yeboah, Tony Baffo,Odartey Lamptey, Pele himself etc not achieving nothing for mother Ghana. Have you also forgotten the same incident between Abedi and Tony Yeboah in Bochum, Germay? that led the germans trashing us 6 goals to 1. Do you also recall Abedi refusing also to play for the BS for the authorities to intervein? Dont forget what happened quiet recently when Abedi wanted to use his inluence in the NDC to wrestle CAF's post from Kwasi Nyantakyi after Ghana had submitted Nyantakyi's name to the CAF ealier on? Abedi's comment after he failed that attempt was shows a bitter man.
Dont forget Abedi is the father of theses two young men in the headline and his influence on them is unquestionable. Remember when Dede was subtituted recently playing for the BS? was his attitude respectful or disrespectful? Tell me what good professional would use his brother as a bait to play for his nation? Was Dede not giving extended time to report? He chose to be resentful and the coach did the right thing. Football is a collective effort and remember one bad nut can spiol all.

People with various experience have been woefully abused by Ghana authorities when they tried to help in one way or the other. I am not saying that these things shouldn't happend at all, but the rate at which people are abused in the hand of our so called half-baked authorities demand serious attention. Dr. Fimpong was humiliated, used, abused and dumped for making his political ambition known to the public after helping our ivy hospital(Korle-Bu) in Ghana to set up cardiology department. The list can go on and on,and on, we kill our leaders, prophets, doctors, lawyers, etc. then reward them when they've long gone. I personally think GFA needs to consider calling them for a talk. Believe me, kevin Boateng and Micheal Essien are very good friends of the Ayew brothers and their withal of service to the National Team will surely affect the return of the above-mentioned players. This is a manifestation of the bad blood and animosity that their father brought to the camp of the stars that saw the senior national team never qualifying for the world cup during their time.This is no personal attack or hatred for the Abedis. Abedi pele was or even is one of the greatest players by all standards but sadly never made it to the world cup, why?. All his boys are equally excellent players and have within a short period contributed greatly to Ghana soccer. But from what we saw of Abedi in his time and what we are seeing of his children (Andre and Jordan) today, it suffices one to conclude that these are self-centred and egoistic people who don the national jersey not for the love of country but for their own individualistic search for glories.
But one thing must be made clear to Abedi and his progenies, that before them was Black Stars and the Black Stars shall continue to be with or without them. They (the Abedis) cannot hijack the black stars and do what pleases them. Dede and his brother can even decide to stop playing football altogether. We fair minded Ghanaians shall continue to support the Stars with or without laurels.

This goes to show that Dede intentionally refused to go to camp in support of hid brother.
Dede misbehaved when Sellas Tetteh was in charge. Dede refused to report to camp when Kwesi Appiah led the U20 to defeat Nigerians Dream Team. And now look at what they are behaving.
Nigerai won the Afcon with their Stars. Odewingey insulted Keshi for not invitong him and they went on to win the cup.

Will Ghana invite them when they qualify for the WC? Never. Who do they want to play for them to come and enjoy. Allow them to retire for it is becoming too much. Stubborn and indisciplined kids.

Political leaders put themselves above the law because of arrogance, they become corrupt and live above their means for the same reason. Other leaders {Kings and Queens} have to be carried on our shoulders and are unable to contribute to society for the same reason. Soccer stars, leading athletes etc have to be pampered and worshiped before they will render their services to the nation. In contrast, people around the world doing great things are humble, simple and down to earth.

Akwasi Appiah has just been entrusted with the responsibility to manage the team and does not own it. I am a big fan of Dede. However, if this is true, then they should not be invited to the Black Stars until they write another letter to resign their decision. At that point it should be up the Coach to decide whether he needs them or not. No one has a guaranteed position in the Black Stars. Not even the son of President Mahama. We need players who are committed and feel privileged to be playing for the black stars and not those who think it’s their right. Keshi benched Odewinge and so many big names for this same reason and yet they won the Nations Cup.

I like and love these Ayews but they need to understand that discipline can not be compromised even if it means losing.Discipline is discipline.That is our biggest problem in Ghana and Africa in general.Whenever the word discipline is applied it is translated to be witch hunt because our fathers never knew what is discipline so they never taught us one.Any organisation without discipline can not survive.We never respect our own when it comes to coaches.I have said it before.The Ayews want to both play or we will not play that is their secret but let us be fair and plain.Dede Ayew is very ripe and over ripe for the Black Stars but brother Jordan let us face it is just not there yet but that hard for them and their fans to accept.So the plan now is if my brother is not playing I will not play.Sad indeed.Anyway learn from history any team or job that employs two or more family members is always in for future trouble.That is why most company policies in deveoped nations donot employ two family members.It is always disaster waiting to happen.If you have two brothers in the same company they seem to own it so if you touch one you touch the other.If it is husband and wife in the the same company it is the same.Just think about this and be the judge because I have lived it.

I for one have noted several times that trust is breached between the Ayews and management, and that it will be difficult for the two parties to work together. simply put the relationship is toxic. Some body has to save face. There are two likely scenarios here: 1. Appiah refuses to invite the Ayews, 2.the Ayew refuse to respond to Appiah's call up. So seriously, the decision by the Ayews to temporarily withdraw their services is the best for both parties. It is nice way of re-stating the obvious which is that they cannot play for the BS under Appiah. This is truly a simple matter. The same way the coach is not obliged to invite them for any match, the players also have the right to refuse to play when they choose to. either party have to decide whether it is any acceptable situation or not.
