This was a very good team performance with so many positives. But frankly there were a few rough edges which need to be polished. Some players tried to hang on to the ball far too longer. John Boye in particular looked complacent and a bit rusty; holding on to the ball far too long and giving wayward passes which put the defence under pressure. Harrison Afful was guilty of the same and Adomah was forced to concede a freekick in a very dangerous position after holding on longer to the ball and then losing possession. Kwadwo Asamoah also played himself into trouble after dilly-dallying in the 18 rather than clearing the ball. We also need to launch fast counter attacks and that means working on the pace of the midfielders and attackers. Wakaso Mubarak in particular needs to develop his pace. I believe he can take on defenders just as Atsu does. Congratulations to them and wish they all stay injury-free.

You are perfectly on point. On the positive side I realized how improved the team has become concerning "taking their chances in front of goal" and also putting pressure on the Egyptians in front of goal to force them to make mistakes which brought the 2nd and 3rd goals. There were fewer selfish attempts to score, yielding excellent assists for all the goals. There was no specific player at least in my book who tried to outshine the other players: that is a very good sign of a team willing to work collectively in a friendly where caution and self-preservation are required. That might change in the actual tournament, because some players will have to rise to hero status!

Yes Bro. Cerebral the attack looks very fluent and cohesive and the finishing calm and deadly. The set pieces too were well executed. The other positive was that it was a selfless display of solid team work with players determined to work for the common goal rather than seek individual glories. I think this was a major factor in ensuring the goals came. This was evident in the 2 second half goals. With players releasing the ball to a mate in a good position to score. First it was K.Asa who did it. This was then followed by the whiz kid. Both resulted in a cool, calm and deadly finish by RYB and Gyan. However, like I said, they must launch fast counter attacks as part of their game. It has become one of the weapons of the game now. In fact we need to be ready to play it fast when necessary. The Tunisians especially are going to play it fast so we must be prepared for that.

AA SHOULD TAKE A CUE FROM BARCELONA.
THEY AWAYS PLAY SIMPLE, BREAK N PASS BALL. WITH THE EXCEPTION OF XABI AND MESSI WHO HOLD UNTO THE BALL FOR SPECIFIC REASONS AND DIRECTIONS, EVERYONE ELSE PLAYS SIMPLE BREAK AND PASS BALL. WE SHOULD LEARN TO DO THE SAME. SIMPLICITY N SPEED WINS!

Even though some players made some unforced errors because they were caught in possession, it did not come across as if they wanted to impress or were selfish, it seemed as if they "missed their reaction time" sometimes they procrastinated. Adomah has pace and his crosses are dangerous, he made some beautiful runs on the flanks. Boakye Yiadom is very alert in front of goal, no kidding!!! Derek started poorly but he picked later and cleared some dangerous balls in defense. Kwadwo Asamoah has matured in defense and attack. Dauda the goalie is an asset, he made a save of an Egyptian long distant volley that required a dive that could contest as a save of the week. I am optimistic about the team!

Well said, brother Kojo. I think POW is trying to play the Devil's Advocate here. In fact forget about the scoreline. The approach of the team was equally impressive. And I think that's what counts.

Today's Egyptian team was not of the quality we played against in 2010 at AFCON FINAL for several reasons: this is a new Egyptian team that just experienced a revolution. Egypt is in shambles politically. But there is one thing that I can assure you of: they came to win this friendly match in order to send something positive to a depressed Egyptian population. They tried everything possible to penetrate our defenses, but for some reason they were stopped or they missed under pressure from our defense.

You touched on both sides..Both teams have moved on since Angola 2010 and bet me if the same set they played this match the result wouldn't be any diffrent: say they struggled to win that match in Angola by that fluke of just one brilliance counter attack...I wish you can have time to watch that match....I couldn't believe that our young team could tear he Egyptians into tatters but hey their team have stayed longer since 2006 and it showed in their confidence, experience and team work: Please find time to watch that game!!!
