Ghana FA vice-president George Afriyie has launched a scathing attack on British High Commissioner Jon Benjamin, labeling the country's colonial masters as extortionists' following his recent criticism of the federation.

The controversial diplomat launched an unprovoked attack on the Ghana FA few weeks ago, accusing the federation of doing little to enhance juvenile football in the country.

The British official who has never shied away from controversy and local matters warmed himself into one when he alleged the FA had dissipated the FIFA funds on luxury SUV vehicles.

The Ghana FA took a serious view of the damning comment and hit back at his latest salvo as at best stupendous ignorance or, at worst, sinister.

And newly-appointed Ghana FA vice-president George Afriyie has been provoked by the criticism and has replied the British High Commissioner to the country in equal measure.

The British High Commissioners statement was unfortunate. I used to love cars and have been involved in the car business long ago. So, I didnt start driving cars when I got to the GFA, he told Accra-based Citi FM

Recently, people from Hungary came to say they will help us develop pitches. But, what has our colonial master done for our football?

'The British High Commission are extortionists who demand money from Ghanaians and reject visas request, he fumed.

Jon Benjamin has been exposed as the gaffe prone diplomat who forced to apologise three years ago for a Twitter jibe against Argentina and its defeat in the Falklands war.
