Egyptian giants Al-Ahly courts Asamoah Gyan

Will Gyan say goodbye to Shanghai SIPG? Will Gyan say goodbye to Shanghai SIPG?

Al-Ahly are planning an audacious move to sign Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan from big-spending Chinese club Shanghai SIPG in the biggest transfer move in the Egyptian club's rich history.

The Cairo-based giants have approached Shanghai SIPG seeking a loan deal for the in-demand Ghanaian attacker.

Ambitious Al-Ahly club officials have already started with the striker and his agents as he is seeking options to leave the Chinese side in the coming weeks.

The Egyptians have given the Ghana star two days to respond to their offer to sign him on loan until the end of the season to rescue him from his nightmare in China.

Ahly are interested in bringing Gyan on loan till the end of the season and the player has been given 48 hours to respond to the offer from the multiple time African champions.

The sticking point for Al-Ahly would be the wages of the Ghana star as he is one of the highest paid players in the world at Shanghai.
