Former Hearts Coach Kenichi Yatsuhashi has tipped Kotoko as favorite to win this season’s Ghana Premier League.

Yatsuhashi ended his contract with Hearts of Oak on mutual agreement in a bid to embark on a Coaching course in the United States.

The Japanese was replaced by Portuguese trainer Sergio Traguil who was confirmed as the new head coach for the side on Thursday.

The 46-year-old who was in charge in Hearts of Oak’s 0-1 defeat to Kotoko in the first round of the League has singled the Porcupine Warriors as favorite to clinch this season’s domestic top-flight.

"No one knows the future but Kotoko have one of best quality players currently in the league, so I can't rule them out," Kenichi told Goal.

"They did well to come back to where the supporters wanted after a very difficult start, and I believe with the right approach and togetherness, they can win the title," he added.

Kotoko will take on Techiman City in match-day 16 of the Ghana Premier League tomorrow at the Amayew Ekumfi Park.

Michael Osei’s side has shifted their focus to the League title after suffering elimination from the MTN FA Cup when they lost on penalties to Bechem United.

The former Ghana Premier League Champions are currently third on the League table with 26 points.
