Edgar Davids lauds Kotoko fighting spirit

Despite being a non-competitive game, former Netherlands international Edgar Davids has lauded the forceful attitude of Kumasi Asante Kotoko players in the 2016 Vodafone Unity Match played at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Wednesday evening.

Asante Kotoko came from a goal down to win the game 4-1 after former England striker Emile Heskey had shot the World XI side ahead in the first half.

And the former Juventus midfielder has fallen in love with the fighting spirit of the Kotoko team.

“The guys who played were very lively and they gave everything out to win the game and that was really nice.

“The score line didn’t matter most in the game but they were really fighting and running for the ball and that was really good,” Davids said after the game.

He however called on the team to work on their technique as he wasn’t impressed with that.

“… they had a little bit of very slow technique but they were aggressive and serious and that is good for a team,” he added.
