Kotoko players are the best and they have the ability to churn the right result, says General Manager, Opoku Nti.

In the view of the Kotoko manager, the Porcupines have what it takes to wrestle the top of the table position from Ashgold as the second round of the 2014/15 First Capital Plus Premier League resumes this weekend.

Kotoko are 5th on the league table with 22 points, seven less than what leaders Ashgold have amassed and ahead of Sunday’s resumption, Opoku Nti is fully convinced that, Kotoko would sail to the top no matter the opposition.

“I’m sure of that” Opoku Nti told the club’s website.

In commenting on Asante Kotoko preparation for the second half of the season Opoku Nti said: “We didn’t go on break because of our resolve to dislodge the current leaders and successfully defend the title”.

“We started our preparations at Tema; returned to Kumasi to continue. A lot has changed. We’re coming back in full force” he insisted. The General Manager stated without equivocation that, the team was capable of living up to expectation.

“We have a good team. Although there were some hiccups at the start of the season, we worked hard to stabilize the situation. We will double our efforts in the next round. We are the best and our players are eager to perform” Opoku Nti said.

Opoku Nti maintained that, management would make every needed resource available to the team to ensure their success. He urged the fans not to lose confidence in the team. He encouraged them to be supportive at all times.

“Our supporters shouldn’t lose hope. I know none of them wants the team to lose. We will do everything within our power to win. No matter what happens, they should accept things and support the team to achieve the best”.

When the season re-opens on June 7, Kotoko will be away to Heart of Lions. The Porcupines thumped the Lions 4-0 in the last game of the first round.
