Ghana Drops In FIFA Rankings

Ghana dropped two places - 59th position to 61st - in the latest FIFA World Ranking released on March 26.

Cameroun maintained the lead as Africa`s best, which Brazil continued to be the overall leader. Spain, which trails Brazil, managed to push France down to third place.

In the Top 50 regional composition of the Ranking, CAF has 7 teams, second behind EUFA`s 26. Others are CONMEBOL 6, CONCACAF 5, AFC 4 and OFC 2. Among the seven CAF teams in the TOP 50, Cameroun (17), South Africa (30), Morocco (35) maintained their positions. Nigeria (30), Senegal (28), and Egypt (40) dropped a step down, while Tunisia dropped down two steps from 42 in February to 44 in March.

The highest African climb was Benin, moving up 16 steps from 149 in February to 133 in March. Second improvement was Lesotho, which moved up 6 steps from 133 in February to 127 in March. Congo DR also made an impact improving from 67 to 63.
