Ghana’s Appiah flattered by Afcon 2015 inclusion

Ghana’s newfound striker Kwesi Appiah could not hide his joy after gatecrashing the Black Stars’ final 23-man list for the Africa Cup of Nations.

The Cambridge United forward is one of the debutants representing the four-time African champions in Equatorial Guinea, having caught the eyes of new coach Avram Grant.

The 24-year-old striker took to Twitter to express his joy to his teeming fans and followers, saying it was by dint of hard work.

“Delighted to have made the Ghana 23-man squad for AFCON,” Appiah tweeted. “Let the hard work continue.”

Appiah is part of the 12 new players who are making their debut appearance for Ghana at the continental flagship and was on target on his debut for the Black Stars in a 3-0 win over Portuguese second-tier side Olhanense at the Estadio Algae in Portugal.
