Gyan confident he will bounce back strongly for Al Ain after AFCON

Al Ain talisman Asamoah Gyan believes playing in the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations will sharpen him for the remainder of the Arabian Gulf UAE League.

The Ghana captain returned from a three-week injury layoff to score six goals in five matches.

His contribution helped the Asian Champions League semi-finalists to remain behind Al Jazira at the summit of the league on head-to-head after losing 4-3 in October.

Gyan says the break in the league will help Al Ain to recharge their batteries for the title push.

“The break will be good for us because some of the players will be going to national teams and then coming back,” Gyan said.

“By the end of February, everybody will be in tip-top shape. It’s not going to be easy, but we will have the full squad back.

“I am just praying for the health of the players to come back injury-free. I am sure that once we get the first team back, we can win the league.”
