Nyantakyi must go – Kuffour

Ghana FA boss Kwesi Nyantakyi has come under intense pressure to quit following mounting criticism over his administration.

Former Black Stars defender Sammy Osei Kuffour is the latest high profile personality to question the reign of the incumbent FA boss accusing him of lacking ideas to run the game in the West African country.

In a rather shocking attack on the astute lawyer, the former Bayern Munich centre-back claims there is the need for leadership change with Nyantakyi highly favoured to win the seat for the third time running when the FA goes to the poll next year.

Ghana football is on the crossroad in the wake of the country’s chaotic World Cup coupled with the delay start of the Ghana Premier League due to litigation with King Faisal.

The situation has brought massive pressure on the Ghana FA boss who is the leading contender to win a third presidential bid.

However, it appears there are no credible opposition to topple Nyantakyi as he has endeared himself to most Ghana football aficionados.

Ex-King Faisal Chief Executive Vincent Sowah Odotei and Executive Committee member Randy Abbey are believed to be lacing their boots to challenge Nyantakyi at next year’s polls.

Ghana football legend Abedi Pele has denied reports of his interest of contesting him while Tony Baffoe has steered clear of the post.

Nyantakyi, who has close ties with CAF president Issah Hayatou, is regarded as a powerful man and hot favourite to win the race to lead the FA for the third time running.
