Opoku Nti to be handed another year as Kotoko boss

Footy-ghana.com has gathered that Asante Kotoko legend Samuel Opoku Nti is set to be handed a fresh one-year mandate to stay on as the club’s acting General Manager.

According to our sources, Opoku Nti’s efforts in overseeing a league and cup double winning campaign for the club last season has impressed the club’s owner and Ashanti overlord, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, which will keep the former Ghana captain at post for at least another 12 months.

Footy-ghana.com understands that the Asantehene is planning to strengthen administrative structures at the club to support Opoku Nti, with the establishment of effective Communications and Marketing Departments of the club.

Opoku Nti, who famously scored the goal that won Asante Kotoko the 1983 African Champions Cup, was named the acting General Manager of the club by Otumfuo Osei Tutu II after the resignation of Dr. Kofi Kodua Sarpong as Executive Board Chairman of the club last year.
