GAA to hold congress on Nov. 15

The Ghana Athletics Association (GAA), as part of its constitutional requirements has fixed, November 15, 2014 for its Congress.

The congress is scheduled for the Conference Hall of the National Hockey Pitch in Accra and it is expected to attract all stakeholders from the ten regions.

Information reaching Sportscrusader.com, indicates that, the Congress will be used as a platform to elect new leaders for the Association.

Among the positions up for contest are; President, Vice President, Organising Secretary and Treasurer.

Though incumbent president Prof. Francis Dodoo, is yet to announce his decision on whether to contest or not, they are clear indications that he may be willing seek another term.

Prof. Dodoo, who was under intense pressure during the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, following the poor performance of Ghana at the competition, has also seen some backlash from some stakeholders in athletics.

Prof. Dodoo, also double as the President of the Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC).
