Soulama earns praise from Nelson

The capture of former Kumasi Asante Kotoko goalkeeper, Soulama Abdoulaye, by Accra Hearts of Oak has received mixed responses and the latest to add his voice is board member of Hearts of Oak, Frank Nelson.

The Board member has branded the capture of Soulama to the Phobian ranks as a fantastic addition but cautioned the vociferous fans to exercise patience with the Burkinabe.

“We know the strength of Soulama, he has been with Kotoko for years he has been in post for Burkina Faso also for years, so why will somebody question or doubt his competence?”

“He is a top goalkeeper in the country and we deem it right to accept him into our ranks, I’m pleading to our fans to exercise patience on him, he will come good to us when the season starts. For me, I think that he is a good addition to the team and we cannot dislike him all because he has played for Kotoko. For me, that is not fear and we need to respect him”.

Frank Nelson also explained the reason his team opted for Soulama and not Dream FC Seidu Mutawakilu who was on the verge of securing a deal with the Phobians.

“We had two wonderful goalkeepers who wanted to join us during pre-season, we think that both could be a good addition for us, but we want to make sure that we give the Phobians all the best, we think that the decision we took to give an offer to Soulama and not the other goalkeeper is experience and exposure.

“We want our fans to support the board in all the decision we take, we want them to respect us since we will never do anything to the detriment of our beloved Hearts of Oak.”
