Andre Ayew suffers head injury

Ghana midfielder Andre Ayew was forced off the pitch early in the second half because of a head injury as his Marseille side suffered a 2-0 home defeat to Montpellier.

His cut head required stitches at half-time had to be substituted early in the second half when the wound reopened.

The Olympique Marseille staff could not find another number ten shirt for the Ghana international.

Anthony Mounier scored one and set up the other as Montpellier Herault SC spoiled Marcelo Bielsa’s home debut on Sunday.
