Namibia U23 to train in Ghana next week for All Africa Games qualifiers

Namibia’s U23 team will open a two-week training camp in Ghana to prepare for the U-23 All Africa Championships qualifiers, GHANASoccernet.com can exclusively reveal.

The team would arrive in Accra on Tuesday 29 June and is expected to return on August 16.

The Namibia Football Association (NFA) has an agreement with the Ghana FA under which women’s and men’s U-17, U-20 and U-23 teams train at the West African country’s state-of-the-art football facilities.

This will be the third time a national team from a Southern African country train in the West African country.

Head coach Woody Jacobs says this early training programme is to fortify his team for the task ahead with the qualifiers set to take place early next year.

“We do not yet know what the fixtures for the qualifiers and dates and venues are, but this is just to prepare the boys well in advance,” told the Namibia News Agency.
