Dauda: Appiah knows my abilities

Orlando Pirates goalkeeper Fatau Dauda is hoping to make the final Ghana squad for the 2014 World Cup.

Speaking to the Siya Crew, Dauda said the Black Stars coach Kwesi Appiah is worried about his lack of game time at Pirates, but at the same time understands his situation.

“He’s very worried that I’m not playing,” Dauda said. “He’s been talking to my technical team here though, and he understands that it’s difficult to change a goalkeeper when the other is doing well. Just because you’re on the bench, doesn’t mean you’re no good.”

“He’s worried that I’m not playing, but he knows what I can do,” added Dauda.

Meanwhile, reports have it that Dauda is considering leaving the Sea Robbers. The former Ashantigold shot-stopper has had to play second fiddle to Senzo Meyiwa this season, and made just three appearances in the league for the Buccaneers.
