Desailly eyes DR Congo job

Ghana-born ex-France captain Marcel Desailly has been linked with the DR Congo national team coaching job.

The former AC Milan and Chelsea player approached Vietnam after their manager quit last month but the former France captain was not the candidate the Vietnam Football Federation was looking for.

Desailly, a 1998 World Cup winner made 116 appearances for France has since been interested in leading the Leopards.

But he faces competition from fellow Frenchmen Jean-Michel Cavalli and former Togo coach Didier Six.

DR Congo have been without a coach since June last year when Claude Le Roy stepped down.

Ex-international Santos Muntubile has been handed temporary charge of the Leopards.
