Greater Accra Regional Sports Authority Hosts 2nd Staff Awards

The Greater Accra Regional Sports Authority will hold its 2nd Staff and Stakeholders Awards on Tuesday, 4th March, 2014 at the Media Centre of the Accra Sports Stadium from 11:00a.m. to 2:00p.m.

According to Kwame Amponfi Jr, the Acting Regional Sports Director, the essence of the awards ceremony is to recognise and appreciate the relentless efforts of staff and stakeholders of the Greater Accra Regional Sports Authority in consolidating the achievements in the development and promotion of sports during the year 2013.

The Awards categories include; Best Metropolitan, Municipal and District Sports Director, Best Regional Coach, Most Disciplined and Dedicated Staff, Overall Best Regional Athlete, Best Grounds Man and Overall Regional Best Worker.

Four Regional Sports Association chairpersons, out of the over 33 Sports Associations, will also be awarded for their dedicated service.

Besides, other meritorious awards will be given to other deserving personalities for their immense contribution to the overall sports achievements of the Regional Sports Authority.

The attractive cash and kind awards to be given out are aimed at motivating staff and Regional Sports Development Partners to intensify their contribution to the attainment of the mission and vision of the Greater Accra Regional Sports Authority under the Directorship of Mr Kwame Amponfi Jnr.

The achievements of the Greater Accra Regional Sports Authority for the year 2013, as well as the action plan for the year 2014 will also be outlined at the function.

The Greater Accra Regional Minister, Hon Julius Debrah; the Ag. Director-General of the National Sports Authority, Ms Alice Attipoe; the Chief Sports Development Officer of the National Sports Authority, Mr. Erasmus Adorkor, the Sports Media and other top representatives of the Public Service Workers Union are expected to grace the occasion.
