‘My absence will not affect Ghana’s chances’

Black Satellites defender Joseph Attamah says his suspension-enforced absence from the team in Wednesday’s game against France will not affect Ghana’s chances.

He told Takoradi-based Skyy Power FM that even though he is disappointed with his suspension from the FIFA Under 20 World Cup semifinal match, he believes that Ghana can defeat France.

“I am disappointed to miss the France match. I wanted to play in every game.

But my absence doesn’t mean that we would lose the game. We are moving forward and we have to beat France. I believe that we will,” the defender told reporters.

Attamah added that Ghana took advantage of tiredness on the part of the Chilean players to win the epic quarterfinal match on Sunday night, adding that Chile were very difficult opponents.

“Chile gave us a very tough time. We took advantage of the fact that they were tired towards the end. That is what worked for us and that is why we won,” he disclosed.
