Black Starlets take the road to revive campaign

Ghana's U-17 men's team are back on the field preparing in earnest for their decisive final group clash at the 2013 African Junior Championships.

Paa Kwesi Fabin's team arrived in Casablanca after making the two-and-half hour journey by road from Marrakech on Thursday to begin preparations for their final group game against Ivory Coast.

With everything to play for, the team went straight into training and kicked off their first session at the Mohammed V Stadium after 16:00GMT.

The turn of events after the second round of matches in Group B on Wednesday handed the Black Starlets a lifeline as they now need a win against Ivorians on Saturday to reach the semi-finals.

Ghana, after their opening loss to Nigeria, managed to claim a point in their 1-1 draw against Congo on Wednesday.

The Black Starlets, two-time African Champions will square off with group leaders, Ivory Coast at the Mohammed V Stadium in Casablanca while Nigeria meet Congo in Marrakech simultaneously as Group B goes to the wire.

The Ivorians top the group with 4 points with the Black Starlets 1 point behind at the bottom of the table but all four teams have an equal chance of progressing to the semi finals.
