Hearts must work hard before Kotoko clash

Acting head coach of Accra Hearts of Oak coach Ben Adjie says his team needs to work hard before meeting arch rivals Kumasi Asante Kotoko at the Baba Yara Sports stadium on 18th November, after leading the phobians to their first victory in four matches.

Mahatma Otoo opened the scores in the 15th minute but RTU pegged them back with goals from Hanan Gyiwah and Sakara Abdul Salim after the break.

Moro Abubakar converted from the spot after the referee S.B. Bortey awarded a controversial penalty to the phobians after Edward Afum went to ground, and Afum was on hand to score the winner in added time when he bounced on Laryea Kingston’s cross.

Speaking to media men after the game, Ben Adjie admitted that his team needs to do a lot more before before the crunch game with Kotoko in two weeks time.

“Like I’m saying, we are going to be working harder and harder every fuXXX day," Adjie told www.liquidsportsghana.com

“It was the same (team that C.K. Akunor had), but I think we need to work hard every day and them we will achieve our aim. They (the fans) are expecting more from me. So we are going to work hard every day."

Meanwhile, despite protestations from RTU officials and players about some of the decisions of the central referee S.B. Bortey, Ben Adjie feels his side deserved to win the three points.

"You also saw the penalties, as to whether they were not penalty decisions, I can't comment about them."

“It wasn’t easy at all. You know, you all saw what we went through. By hard work we will get somewhere and by the grace of God we were able to win.”

Hearts dismissed their head coach C.K. Akunnor last week after the team lost three consecutive times and Ben Adjie admits it took a lot to get his players to play the way he wanted.

"By psyching them( the players), telling them what do and directing them at a point in time."
