The Professional Footballers Association of Ghana (PFAG) in collaboration with the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) on Wednesday launched a campaign to promote peace before, during and after the country's General elections.

The campaign, dubbed “One Ghana, Goals for Peace” and under the theme: “Stand up for Ghana”, will roll out four matches to promote peace ahead of the elections in December this year.

According to Anthony Baffour, General Secretary of PFAG, the objective of the campaign is to highlight the significance of using football as a tool to unify the political parties and Ghanaians for peace to prevail ahead of the impending elections.

The first match scheduled for July 2 in Tamale, the Northern Regional capital, will be between Sulley Muntari XI and Stephen Appiah XI which will feature retired and current Black Stars players including Andre Ayew, his kid-brother Jordan, John Boye, Laryea Kingson and Ben Acheampong.
