GFA visits Agyemang-Badu in Italy

Black Stars midfielder Emmanuel Agyemang Badu has received a visit from the Ghana Football Association (GFA) as he recovers from a knee injury in Italy. The enforcer, who plays for Udinese, suffered the injury while playing for his country at the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations in February.

The GFA sent executive committee member Felix Ansong to Udine on Wednesday to check on the recovery of the player.

Agyemang-Badu was touched by the gesture from the GFA and has vowed his commitment to the Black Stars.

"I want to say thank you to the GFA for sending Mr. Ansong to check on me. I really appreciate it," said the midfielder who was part of Ghana's U20 World Cup winning squad.

"It is always an honour for me to play for my country Ghana and I really thank them for this. It means a lot to me."

The GFA executive committee was delighted with the progress of Agyemang-Badu. "I am happy with the progress Emmanuel is making since suffering that injury at the Africa Cup of Nations," Ansong told Ghanafa.org.

“He is now jogging and that is good news for all of us. We pray he gets better so that he can return to playing the game he loves most.

"The GFA has been regularly checking on him through phone calls but we needed to come here to visit him and show him that we really care about him." Agyemang-Badu is expected back in action before the end of the season in Italy.
