Tarkwa T and A Park under renovation

Accra, Aug. 26, GNA - The Tarkwa T and A Park, the home venue of Medeama Sporting Club is currently under an intensive renovation exercise a= s part of efforts to raise the standards of the pitch. The renovation exercise, which commenced on August 18 under the technical expertise of Green Grass Technology, (GGT) is expected to last fo= r six months.

Frank Boahene, Chief Executive of GGT told GNA Sports in Accra that the pitch which has been cleared of all grass, will soon have the base restructured with the right amount of soil to pave the way for its re-grassing.

He noted that the pitch was not originally balanced and makes ball control difficult, adding that it will be one of the defects that will be corrected during the renovation exercise. Boahene indicated that, even though he is expected to complete the wor= k in six months time, it works will depend on the nature of the weather. "If we get a good weather, then we will be able to complete on time, but if it rains in excess then that will make the initial stages of the wor= k difficult". Boahene stated. He, however, stated that the pitch could be measured up to any international standard after its completion. Medeama Sporting Club is expected to use the Essipong Stadium for their home matches at least for the first round of the Premier League. They will return to the Tarkwa T and A Park after the renovation exercise is over.
