Badminton - BAG hold National Championship

Accra, Feb. 17, GNA - The Badminton Association of Ghana (BAG) will from March 5th to 7th hold its National Open Championship at the D.G. Hathiramani Sports Hall, Ohene Djan Stadium, Accra.

The championship, dubbed "National Independence Badminton Open Championship" will be used to assess and rank players for the national team ahead of major international competitions.

It will also serve as the platform for unearthing new talents and grooming others for the national team as well as commemorate the 54th Independence Anniversary Celebrations.

The three-day championship will see both men and women featuring in the singles and doubles events.

Ignatius Elletey, General Secretary of BAG in a press release to GNA Sports, said the Association will also conduct a training clinic for coaches and trainers on March 4, at the same venue to educate them on the current trends of the game.

He called on badminton players to come in their numbers register for the three events. GNA
