SWAG appoints NSC Scribe

The Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) in consultation with its Executive Committee has appointed the Head of Public Relations of the National Sports Council (NSC), Mr. Hamah Hamid Issakah, as a Member of SWAG Elections Committee. Mr Issaka was appointed in view of his solid experience in sports administration, particularly the harmonious relations the NSC enjoys with the media and other stakeholders. He was instrumental in the solution of the May 9 disaster at the then Accra Sports Stadium now christened Ohene Djan Sports Stadium, Accra, after renovation.

Mr. Issakah has been roped into a number of committees including the Youth & Sports Ministry’s HIV/AIDS Awareness (1997-2000),Ghana Football Association’s Publicity and Protocol (2003-2006), National Sports Festival (1997, 2004), African Hockey Cup of Nations, and he fondly remembered for solely organising the Accra Bicycle Caravan in 2003, and NSC Rebranding Chairman (2010). A letter signed by SWAG’s Acting General Secretary, Mr. William Dodzi Ezah stated that the association will announce the dates for filing of nominations, voting and other related issues regarding the election. The election is necessitated following the end of the four-year tenure of office of the current SWAG executive last year.
