Kotoko To Host Kaizer Chiefs

KUMASMI Asante Kotoko will host South Africa’s Kaizer Chiefs in a friendly match in aid of victims of the Accra stadium disaster.

The idea for this international charity match was broached over the weekend at an inter-faith memorial service for the victims of the disaster, in which 126 fans perished, at the Kumasi Sports Stadium.

Asante Kotoko management believes that the occasion would offer an opportunity for the two clubs to forge ahead in the prevention of future occurrences, after the Chiefs themselves were involved in a similar tragedy, when they took on rivals Orlando Pirates at Ellis Park in April.
