Appiah set for Ghanaian FA role

ABRA APPIAH, a committee member of Okwahu United Football Club, is expected to be nominated for the post of chairman of the Ghanaian FA.

He is expected to be nominated by the vice-president, a position that is at present vacant and yet to be filled. Vice-chairman, E.A. Owusu Ansah currently doubles as the FA chairman.

Credible sources have indicated that Abra Appiah, 54, a banker and a member of the FA's Executive Council, who has been in football for the past 20 years, is to be nominated alongside another nominee, who could be Abedi Ayew Pele.

Pele has support from the Ministry of Youth and Sports, which is overseen by the vice-president of Ghana, Alhaji Aliu Mahama.
