Hanover friendly called off

World Cup finalists Ghana have had a friendly against Hanover 96 this month cancelled, the Ghana Football Association said on Friday.

The west African country are hoping to organise an alternative match in Germany on April 26 against another German club side as part of their World Cup preparations.

The GFA said Hanover had called off the game for "organisational reasons".

Ghana will play their first World Cup game against Italy in Hannover on June 12. They also face the Czech Republic and the U.S. in Group E.
