We won't do mass selling: Sarpong

Asante Kotoko Optimist executive board chairman Dr K. K Sarpong has rubbished claims that the club set out in it' s pre season tour of Serbia to sell players and insist they are not exactly a selling club.

Five Kotoko players from the youth side have stayed behind in Serbia after the tour while other news reports have suggested up to ten players including Ahmed Toure and Daniel Boo Adjei could be heading out too as part of a mass sale.

That has drawn criticism from some followers of the club including legend Osei Kofi who fears it will hurt the club's league title ambitions.

But Sarpong insists the subject has been blown over. "The issue of selling the players is being over bloated, we are not going to sell players for a pittance. If the offers are not good we won't do that. Any player we will sell, we will have replacements for," he said.

Sarpong was hugely impressed with the performance of the club's players during their pre season tour.

"If they had played like this in Ghana maybe we would have won the league. A lot of interest has been expressed but u have always said in football without firm offers nothing is close and we don't have firm offers yet," he added
