Priest Cautions Youth Against Arrogance

Adoagyiri (E/R), Aug. 12, - The youth have been cautioned against arrogance and pride and rather be submissive and obedient to authority. The Reverend Father Robert Edwin Hagan, Acting Priest of the Saint Joseph Parish at Adoagyiri, near Nsawam, gave the warning when he addressed the closing session of a week-long national eucharistic congress of the church.

The congress which was attended by about 2,000 delegates from ten outstations of the parish was on the theme ''one bread, one body, one Lord of all.'' The emphasis was on ''Mass'' as a sign of Christian unity and reconciliation. Father Hagan said due to mental slavery, ''Africans have failed to develop the rich religion and culture that their ancestors left for them, and are pursuing strange religions and traditions they do not understand.''

He said it was time Africans realise that other continents are developing politically and economically because they have developed their own culture and religion.
