The Ghana Football Association has challenged sports journalists in the country to offer alternative ideas to the way forward of Ghana football instead always criticizing.

The GFA in recent months has been declared a public enemy by a section of the media and its product the Ghana Premier League has been labeled as an inferior league.

However, according to George Afriyie, a member of the Executive Committee of the Ghana FA, who represented the GFA President during the PLB/GFA awards gala on Friday, the situation is blown out of proportion by sports journalist and he is therefore calling on them to practice responsible journalism instead of always offering destructive criticisms.

“I think sports journalists in Ghana should practice responsible journalism by criticizing constructively instead of always emphasizing on the negative aspect of our football without suggesting alternative solutions to issues they raise,” he said.
